To think Ticketmaster are bang out of order?

We have booked tickets for Sound of music at oxford for 23rd dec. Just looked at the theatre website and they say, if people are unable to attend due to weather, then you can exchange tickets for another performance but you have to return to where you booked your tickets.
Now i booked the tickets online through Ticketmaster which is the official box office for the theatre, and they say no refunds or exchanges due to adverse weather!!

So I have emailed the theatre, but just thinking the theatre should make it clear that if you purchase through their official box office you will not have the same rights as other customers, as i would expect the majority would have purchased through ticketmaster, as there is no booking line by phone, only in person.£122 is a lot of money to lose Sad

It might be worth contacting them directly though ? if it helps, in 2005 DH and I had booked (through ticketmaster) tickets to see The Rat Pack on the 8th July. As a result of the 7/7 bombings, the show was cancelled, and we actually got a full refund through ticketmaster (via the Savoy Theatre who sorted it out for us)
I know it?s not the same thing, but it?s always worth checking!

Thanks, have emailed the theatre. I know I would be able to get a refund if the show is cancelled, but at the moment the shows are going ahead. It really makes me think twice about booking things in advance and certainly through ticketmaster.

Ah, sorry, I sped-read it, and didn?t think it through!
If you can?t get a refund, that is a right old bag o? crap! Hope it resolves itself

It's probably your own fault for wanting to see that tosh.

Ha ha ha, but on a serious note, you do have protection with Ticket master (regardless of weather) I'm sure. Go to Which?'s website and have a gander.

I don't think I do according to ticketmaster, unless the venue cancel the show.

Well unless they cancel, due to weather, why do you want to cancel? Can you not travel there because of the weather?

Yes, obviously I want to go to the show, but live an hour away by car, and there is heavy snow there and here, and looks like it is set to last.
