To be cross/worried about my parents going out in the snow

My mum just called me (to ask if my son would like something she has seen) and said she is in Brent X with my dad. We are predicted up to 25cm of snow today and they are out Xmas Shopping (it is already snowing)!! They are 65 yrs old and live 8 miles away from Brent X - which can take an hour at the best of times due to traffic.

AIBU to be cross at them for going?

YABU not TABU! And I see that you know you were being a bit anyway. :)

OP, if your parents are 65 then they can probably remember when winters were very cold, heavy snow was normal and people were used to going out and about in it.
I don't think you're unreasonable in being worried about them, we all worry about our loved ones from time to time. I would try not to get cross with them though.

Did they get home ok?

We are near Brent Cross and its was really dangerous earlier, I wouldbe worried sick if it was my parents driving home in that!

My 70yo MIL was in the park doing Tai Chi early this morning- we have had 6 inches of snow here!

As long as they're healthy and safe...
