to be 33 weeks pregnant and so angry with the world?

I am 33 weeks and so cross! The last few days I think I have bitten everyones head off, what on earth is wrong with me?

I work full time as a teacher, but have had today off as I think the children in the school think I have turned into the devil rather than a pretty christmas angel. I don't have my own class this year, just doing supply in the school until I go on maternity leave.

My inlaws are coming to stay on Monday for 10 days, the more I think about it the crosser I get!

Please tell me to chill.

Chill - being pg is hard at the best of times - and hard enough with my own kids - the thought of spending all day pg with as many kids as you do sends shivers down my spine (not that I don't like kids but I really need me time in pg)

Can you get your self in for a pamper - or at least take yoruself off somewhere calming for a few hours?

Hope things get better soon

b*

Thanks, I am so shattered I can't be bothered to go out today so I am reading.

DD has gone to nursery today as normal, so I feel guilty for that to...plus I am missing her! She is only 19 months.

YANBU but if you were taking things out on my school child because you were preg-stressing I would be one unhappy parent!

theevildead2 · 15/12/2010 12:49

36 weeks tomorrow- I could punch kittens

mumbar · 15/12/2010 12:53

YANBU, my DS teacher was pg last year, working until end of summer term, then mat leave 36/37 weeks ish. She decided at 33 weeks she would finish the week before the end of term. Don't think se could muster up the energy to be exited with a bunch of 5/6 yo who were about to have 6 weeks off. Grin

Chica31 · 15/12/2010 12:56

I qm hardly taking it out, just a little less happy than usual! Please don't make me feel any more guilty.

OP posts:
mumbar · 15/12/2010 12:58

Chica - just ignore. You should know by now being a teacher your not allowed to be, well, normal. Wink

I am NOT a teacher btw.

Chica31 · 15/12/2010 13:00

Thanks mumbar

Chica I'm 37+5 with DC2 and am snapping at everyone, including DD(4) which is guaranteed to make me feel guilty and selfish. Second time round has been so much harder. Can't wait for LO to arrive so I'm not pg anymore!

JodiesMummy · 15/12/2010 13:04

When I was pregnant I was no different to normal - except fatter and had porn star tits!

Pregnancy is not an illness. Or an excuse to be rude and stroppy.

Casserole · 15/12/2010 13:08

Am I understanding that right, you took today off because you were in a bad mood?

If so, then yes, YABU.

faverolles · 15/12/2010 13:10

JodiesMummy - consider yourself lucky that your hormones behaved themselves Xmas Wink

Last pregnancy, I was possessed by the devil himself, but thought I was being perfectly reasonable and normal.
It's only now, 33 weeks PG with 4th that dh admits he was worried I'd do the same and be a roaring cowbag!

At least the OP can recognise that she's being cross and snappy, so can rein it in a bit.

YANBU - when your inlaws arrive, make sure you get plenty of time to yourself, and give them lots of jobs to do!

faverolles · 15/12/2010 13:11

(JM - very jealous of your porn star tits. Mine are like udders at the moment)

JodiesMummy · 15/12/2010 13:12

I know Fave - they dont normally ;) I am worse when not pregnant.

The inlaws thing - ten days is a long stretch - you could take to your bed often to get away from them...?

shirleyhyypia · 15/12/2010 13:16

Pregnancy is not an illness? So why was I in hospital so often?

Hmm
theevildead2 · 15/12/2010 13:22

It isn't an illness but it does kill 343,000 women a year.

ANd we all have very different symptoms, be happy you had an easy pregnancy you may not be so lucky next time

Chica31 · 15/12/2010 13:53

No, I had today off as I was so shattered.

DH got DD up, gave her breakfast, she then came through to see me. I found she still had her nappy on from the night and it had leaked a bit so I cried...so, so tired!

DH said you look awful, stay at home.

1st pregnancy was great, I felt great, could move around easily, carried on working for ages.

This time, I am huge, it feels like my insides are going to fall out and I cry all the time! Plus my boobs look like cows udders and have gone really dark. BF DD for 12 months so are not the same as before any way.

leeloo1 · 15/12/2010 15:31

Oh no, website just ate my sympathetic post! Sad

I have complete sympathy for you - albeit slighly less descriptively than 5 minutes ago- having taught through my last pregnancy! So, so, so tiring - and supply is worst of all!

Put your feet up and enjoy the rest so you'll have more energy to play with DD tonight (and don't feel guilty she's in nursery, bet she's having a lovely xmassy glittery time! :)

Lulabel27 · 15/12/2010 15:42

YANBU I'm 34 weeks and am working until 39 weeks. The baby is engaged already so am waddling around, going to the loo every 5 minutes, still wrapping presents, tidying house for my parents and in-laws visit at the weekend and i just want to cry too!

Lets get together and have a good old moan!

And for those that had it easy, good for you but it doesn't mean that everyone does nor should we pretend it is. No medals are handed out for it.

LotteryWinnersOnAcid · 15/12/2010 15:43

YANBU.

I am 34 weeks and have been hit with yet another lurgy. I have never been so ill so often as during pregnancy. My DP is away with work until Friday, the house is a shithole and I can't bear to face it, and the dogs are rubbish nurses who need walking which is a struggle by my pregnant self even when not ill.

I have just downed a HUGE slice of belgian chocolate fudge cake and I suggest you do the same.

Chica31 · 15/12/2010 16:05

Yes, please lets moan together.

My dogs aren't helping either...they seem to really smell doggy today. I keep yelling at them to get out.

LotteryWinnersOnAcid · 15/12/2010 16:52

Mine are being very helpful by stealing my snotty tissues from the bin and shredding them on the floor. I suppose it keeps them amused... Grin
