to get annoyed by leg jigglers?

I was in a pub recently and there was a bloke in my line of vision who was persistently jiggling one leg up and down. Even though he was on the other side of the pub, he was ruining my lunch. (Was very tempted to go over and bash him).

Why do some blokes (it's usually young laddish blokes for some obscure reason) do this? You know, where they kind of balance their leg on one toe and jiggle furiously...

I do it, drives me mad when I realise. I get quite anxious, I think this is a nervous hyperactivity thing.

D'you know what... I'm going to retract and accept that IABU.

I didn't realise that this was so annoying to the jigglers as well as the jigglees (iykwim).

Maybe time for the thread to die a dignified death...

That's what I love about MN - nowhere else on the internet have I ever seen anybody change their mind about something Xmas Smile

Very annoying!

There was a girl who did this just in front of me during one of my final exams. I found it unbelieveably distracting. Afterwards, I was told that people actively try to sit as far away from her as possible during exams - I certainly did for the next one!

I was jiggling my leg as I browsed AIBU - hehe.

YABU - but you know that. Wink

Thanks for the retraction. It is involuntary and it is embarassing.

YABU if someone across the room bothers you that much. Just don't look at them. I jiggle my legs/tap my fingers a lot and don't see the problem if it's not tangible or audible to others. Sometimes I tap my desk at work with my foot and it makes a noise. One of my 7 colleagues tells me to stop so I do. But would be annoyed if someone told me to stop silently jiggling my leg.
