I have bought the tickets and everything but.......

I feel unwell - nausea, tired pathetic,

18 month old son is teething and REALLY grizzly and miserable.

3 year old daughter had diarrhea 3 times at play group this morning.

14 week old.......is just a 14 week old

I am on my own cos Husband away at Christmas party overnight

Forget to remind my Mum and can't get hold of her to give me a hand.

There is a stomach bug going round that is so bad that my mate's daughter's class sent 11 kids home, it is a small town too.

I'm fucked

Its cold.

But i feel guilty AIBU to want to batton down the hatches and just get them fed, bathed and bedded instead ?

I will take them to another one in January.

Stay at home.
Tell them it has been cancelled and you have new and better tickets for after Christmas.
Then all have a bubble bath and goto bed

YANBU and I personally would not be going in those circumstances. I'm assuming your 3-year-old is the only one who cares? In which case surely she can be pacified with a DVD and some chocolate or something for the afternoon?

OnEdge · 09/12/2010 15:27

And we could be infectious right ?

Ooh, maybe best not to give DD chocolate if she's been pooing for her country today!

whatdoiknowanyway · 09/12/2010 15:28

Agree with Serenity - but phone theatre and see if anyone else wants the tickets. They may buy them back.
I wouldn't go today - madness with all you have on!

OnEdge · 09/12/2010 15:28

well 3 year old doesn't really know what one is and she has forgotten all about it, so quite happy.

Am I being soft and lazy or am I being sensible and knowing my limitations.

I have a tendency to just get up and go for it, but I really am fucked, I feel that I could do it but life would be a lot easier to just survive this evening. I reckon that al those kids packed in that theatre ( school hall ) will be passing all sorts of nasties between them.

Sensible and considering other people too! If she was at nursery / school she would have to be off for a day after diarrhoea 3 times, so not fair to take her to a theatre full of children. Get them to bed early and have a nice cup of tea instead Smile

HoHoHoHoopsAndBaby · 09/12/2010 15:33

stay in, snuggle up, it's not the end of the world if they miss a panto, you're not being a wuss just sensible! Xmas Grin

GrimmaTheNome · 09/12/2010 15:37

No, it would be antisocial of you to go.
The younger two will cry and you'll spend most of the time in the loo with your DD anyway.

3 is quite young for a panto anyway, IMO - if its a proper one. My DD saw her first (Jack and the Beanstalk) at 4 and was scared of the giant.

MsFox · 09/12/2010 15:38

Stay in... you will be putting other children at risk and it would be very irresponsible to go under these circumstances.

OnEdge · 09/12/2010 15:48

YEP ! Many thanks MNers.

Why on earth would you take a 14 week old and 18 month old to the panto anyway. Ill or not, it's a crazy idea. I doubt even a 3 year old is old enough to appreciate/understand/enjoy it. They tend to have a baddie character that some young children find frightening. I cant believe that anyone would seriously consider taking children this age to the panto.
