My brother tore his groin playing football on Monday, everytime I think about it I burst out laughing. DH says I'm cruel and immature

You say its revenge for laughing at periods, would it be funny if he had testicular or prostrate cancer also then

OnEdge · 09/12/2010 16:03

As long as you don't mind him laughing at you when you hurt yours, YANBU

So glad I am an only child !

werdator · 09/12/2010 16:04

pallette- obviously it wouldn't be funny if he had cancer

OnEdge · 09/12/2010 16:11

a bit different to cancer innit

toddlerama · 09/12/2010 16:15

I'd probably have a snigger at my siblings too. It's not as if you don't care about the pain, it's just the mildly awkward location which becomes titter-worthy when it's family. Me and my sisters rip it out of my dad when he complains about his groin. And in fairness, we would snigger at each other over any groin related stuff. YANBU - it's not as if you wished it on him. It's happened. If you feel guilty about sniggering, look after him whilst you do it. Grin

Mumcentreplus · 09/12/2010 16:16

@ groin..oh do relax people!!

findingthepath · 09/12/2010 16:27

I would laugh too if it was my brother or sisters as its family and i know they would do the same to me, more so with my Dad he would call me up and laugh at me, then make sure i was ok and ask if i needed any thing.

So yep i would find it funny and yep you are a little bit cruel but your his sister so its ok as long as you show you care as well Grin

Also i think some people just dont have a GSOH on here.

PlentyOfParsnips · 09/12/2010 16:37

As it's family, I think it's OK to laugh a bit. I'm sure you're sympathetic as well. My nephew once had a boil on his arse that needed draining or cutting out or something in hospital. We all thought it was hilarious, but it didn't stop us visiting, running errands and generally doing what we could to cheer him up and help his recovery.

huddspur · 09/12/2010 18:28

YANBU to have a little chuckle but laughing everytime you think about it is probably a bit much.
Hope he gets better soon sounds painful

radiohelen · 09/12/2010 19:25

YANBU - I'd be in fits if my brother tore his groin. It would make up for the grief I still get for breaking my ankle by sleep walking... or the grief my husband gets for jumping off the garage roof and breaking his leg...... it's what siblings do. I would positively relish the opportunity to call him up every day and ask him how his groin was doing that would be a particular daily joy.

TheYuleLogLady · 09/12/2010 19:28

um. it's a groin. even women have groins.

now if he had torn his penis you could snigger but that would still be wrong.

maighdlin · 09/12/2010 19:53

YANBU i still burst out laughing when i think about my DH falling shoulders deep into a hole during road works for the water. he was genuinely hurt but the image of it happening is very funny.

tettoni · 09/12/2010 19:56

hur hur, 'groin' WTF? Which one are you OP, Beavis or Butthead?

JoBettany · 09/12/2010 19:58

YANBU. I have two DB's and I love them both dearly.

However I do revert to a very young child when I'm with them for any length of time.

Xmas Grin

Have I got this right - you find it funny because it's a GROIN injury? Exactly Tettoni!
