waiting in the cold...

Had a moan at kid's teacher today becos they are always out 5-10 mins late and I don't relish standing in the biting wind waiting for them while they are in the warm. I understand that sometimes we're all a bit late but.. this one keeps the kids back deliberately as punishment. I just don't think this is fair on mums/dads/carers/younger siblings especially when there's never any warning and we have places to be.
Moan over, I know there's worse things but it gets on my t**s.

That's okay. But I'm talking about all 30 of them being kept behind. A lot.
Not just the unorganised, badly behaved ones.

Giddy, I feel your pain, dd is on her 3rd pair of gloves since the snow arrived. And today she came home minus hat. God help us at secondary when kit get more expensive.

As a teacher i totally agree it's bad manners to keep parents waiting, this week whilst weather has been bad i have let children go as soon as parent arrives sometimes this has been 15mins. early. I do get annoyed at parents who think school is just for babysitting they stroll in with children whenever they like can be 2 hours late and never pick up on time anything up to hour late not bothered when spoken to by HT or welfare officers. Teachers have children to collect and after school activities too.
