Bear in mind that it is geared at young people as well as sad SAHM - I've been watching it and Neighbours since I was about 8 Blush and it is viewed at 2:15pm and 6pm so early.

Well there was a sex scene with Bianca and her italian bloke in the shower. You saw their hands pressing against the shower screen and there were close ups on her naked arse. I'm really shocked and disappointed.

By the way, I'm not a prude and watch some real filth Wink but certain programmes aired at certain times should act better! Angry

Do people still watch home and away?

Amazing Grin

ShoppingDays · 07/12/2010 01:01

YANBU. As you say, this shouldn't be part of a daytime show.

Livinginoz · 07/12/2010 01:03

Its because they have no watershed here! I've watched an episode of Blue Heelers at 2pm where there was a patient going for it with a cleaner against a wall. Had to hit the 'off' button before DS saw! Blush

ThoseArtisticTypes · 07/12/2010 02:36

Don't know what Blue Heelers is but I assume its not geared for 8-10 age and upwards. Might tune into it if I get bored though - yes I am a hypocrite! Grin

Still pissed off though! Angry

So what is happening on Home and Away, the last I saw Sally was a school teacher, where as the episode I saw before that she was 8!

Livinginoz · 07/12/2010 04:02

Blue Heelers is a crap Australian version on Casualty, so no, not for kids! Well worth watching for an afternoon of trashy tv though! Grin

They swear on the radio during the daytime here as well {hmm]

JebusBuiltMyCoolSled · 07/12/2010 04:17

True true Livinginoz [nods] The word shit seems to be everyday vocabulary on the radio.

I remember watching If These Walls Could Talk in the middle of the day here. There seems to be no 'watershed' to speak of.

Going back to the OP, YANBU seems to be a tad too much for H&A. I'm a Neighbours girl myself though Grin

beijingaling · 07/12/2010 04:18

yep livinginoz is right about the swearing on the radio in the day time. I've been really shocked when in the car with DSCs and heard "shit" during the school run! Yet nipples are blanked out in the more mainstream FHM type mens mags.

Love Aus but there seems to be an odd relationship to swearing, sex etc on tv and radio.

AngelsOnHigh · 07/12/2010 04:31

Blue Heelers went out of production about 10 years ago. The episodes you are watching must be years old.

We get Home and Away at 7 pm and I have been having an ongoing disagreement with a GB friend.

It surely can't be any worse than Eastenders.
I lost a bet with her and had to watch Eastenders for one whole month.

It is extremely tacky and miserable.

At least the young people in Home and Away are generally good to look at and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

Long live Sydney's northern beaches. Xmas Grin

cumbria81 · 07/12/2010 07:49

Home and Away is STILL on?! Shock

TattytinsellooksDevine · 07/12/2010 08:05

Blue Heelers is a cop show isn't it?

Lots of swearing in Oz. Not really foul stuff but when you arrive at various airports you are greeted with a big ad that says "If you drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot".

Welcome to Australia!

They do have a watershed though:

"On Australian television MA15+ programmes are not allowed to be shown before 9:00 p.m. However, the time difference between New South Wales and Queensland during daylight saving in the former, and the fact that some stations broadcast into southern Queensland from northern New South Wales (specifically the Gold Coast), effectively pushed the watershed time back to 8:30 p.m. Complaints from concerned citizens forced these stations to broadcast as per local time.

AV15+ is a television specific variation of the MA15+ rating indicating the program contains "Adult Violence" and programs given this rating are not allowed to be screened before 9:30 p.m. As such, most MA15+ programs generally begin after 9:30 p.m.

With the exception of subscription narrowcast channels, anything rated R18+ may not be shown on Australian television at any time, and must be edited to fit within MA15+ or AV15+ guidelines.

Subscription narrowcast channels may broadcast R18+ materials, but must ensure that the material is restricted to access by those with appropriate disabling devices.[1]

Since its inception in 1995 Pay TV channel Adults Only has only broadcast from 10:45 p.m. (9:45 p.m. at times) until 4:45 a.m. Although it is advertised until 6:00 a.m., it broadcasts only a test signal in the intervening time. However since the inception of Adults Only Select (a pay-per-view service) in 2004, it has all but eliminated the watershed time"

Yabu to watch shit tv.

I was pretty shocked to find out that daytime tv now includes whole days of csi. My ds1 had left the tv in the playroom on and ds2 was playing in there with some bloke being sliced up as background.

Livinginoz · 07/12/2010 10:02

Sorry, just remembered it wasn't Blue Heelers, it was All Saints! Wink

TattytinsellooksDevine · 07/12/2010 12:16

Ah yes, All Saints...I think my mum secretly watches that. Ha.
