ForFestiveSake · 06/12/2010 21:53

My friends little girl repeatedly sang 50 cents 'I'll let you lick the lollypop' song which is much worse Shock

Yes you are being unreasonable. Forget the dodgy content and inappropriate language, the song is SHIT. Why anyone would subject an innocent child to that crap is beyond me.

Ours are only allowed to listen to music from Daddy's vinyl collection and are big fans of The Fall and The Specials.

Slightly · 06/12/2010 22:26

Mine yell sing 'Your socks are on fire... to the famous Kings of Leon track.

I'm certainly not going to correct them Grin

carriedafirework · 06/12/2010 22:29

lol lol at your socks are on fire!

that is brill.
please tell me you have filmed them doing that, for showing them at 18
Grin

YABU for letting your kids listen to shit music on shit radio stations Smile

Joolyjoolyjoo · 06/12/2010 22:30

Well, I wasn't particularly chuffed to hear my 5 and 6 yo dds singing it! Couldn't work out where they could have heard it- I don't listen to pop music at all, and have been trying to influence their musical tastes accordingly. Turns out they hear it on the school bus "all the time" Hmm

All those years of lovingly feeding them decent music- gone in an instant. Sob

Joolyjoolyjoo · 06/12/2010 22:31

Slightly- mine sing "the sticks are on fire", they think it is a song about a bonfire! (I don't mind this one as it is my "playlist" Wink)

TaperJeanGirl · 06/12/2010 22:46

Christ it could be LOTS worse, as I found out when my 2 yr old dd picked up the chorus of anti nowhere leagues 'so what', yes REALLY! Shock

AngryPixie · 06/12/2010 22:49

I came over all cats bum, but had to accept it's because I hate the song.

Last Christmas I waved my ds (4) into reception he was skipping along merrily, holding the teachers hand, and too late I caught the words 'you scumbag you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot'

Thanks Pogues Xmas Grin

TaperJeanGirl · 06/12/2010 22:52

Angrypixie, brilliant Grin have to admit, I would be more upset at one of mine singing the billionaire song than so what!

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 06/12/2010 22:55

I was Shock at my godson singing sean Kingston 'beautiful girl'

'... You're just to beautiful girl, it's why this could never work, you got me suicidal Suuiiciidaaal sucidal when you say it's over...'

he was four!
