...to think that £1.49 is daylight robbery for four small circles of card?

I went into WHSmiths earlier with the intention of purchasing gift tags. £1.49 for either 4 or 6 little cardboard shapes on a piece of thread. Is this not just daylight fucking robbery?

I bought a pack of 48 perfectly tasteful die-cut tags in various festive shapes for 99p last year. (Not in WHSmiths, mind).

It's not even like it's a high-end shop FGS. £1.49! Don't even get me started on gift bags...

I only shop in pound stores for that sort of thing, if i bother at all. usually does me for the whole year.

OTOH i often don't bother because i tend to wrap presents quite traditioanlly (brown paper, some brown string tied in some fancy knots - looks better than it sounds) and it wouldn't "fit" to have a glitzy tag thing going on as well :) cheap and chearful with a bit of effort >>> expensive wrapping that no one notices!

i never shop in WH Smith either, we can't afford to, it's such a rip off - we buy anything that we want that they stock elsewhere. (and we both work - the day i can go into a bookshop and buy a book at fullprice from WHSmith then i know we'll have gone up in the world Grin)

ta-dah! pedlars gift tags

£12.00 for a pack of 36..that's 33p each

a bargain compared with W H Smiths

surely they meant to put £12 for each tag, it must be a mistake.
