to think my brother is a twat

I went to see my parents tonight and as I was leaving my brother made a massive snow ball and threw as hard as he could at me, I turned and it hit me on the back. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and if it had hit my bump then goodness knows what could have happened.

at 15 he probably doesn't even equate that big round bump with an actual baby being inside. he is a child, playing a childish game. he forgot there was precious life within. cut him some slack. weren't you ever 15?

booyhohoho · 04/12/2010 00:06

and lojolecs husband has anger management problems.

Grin @ 'get a grip'

She's pregnant!

I'm sure it doesn't apply to every woman, but I certainly wasn't completely myself when I was pregnant.

YABU its a snowball not a rock. He's a younger brother he's bound to do things that annoy you thats what they are for

duchesse · 04/12/2010 00:11

Some people don't show that much at all at 21 weeks- so potentially no big bump as a signal. I was still in normal clothes at that stage for all 4 pregnancies and don't think it's that unusual.

cikals · 04/12/2010 00:18

YABU its only a snowball and he didn't mean it maliciously

medetre · 04/12/2010 10:31

YABU its only a snowball even if it had hit the bump it wouldn't have harmed the baby

Goblinchild · 04/12/2010 10:47

OMG, how precious are you going to be when you are 40 weeks pregnant? If indeed you are still sane.
I'm assuming this is your first baby OP? Being a neurotic mother is likely to cause the baby more distress than a random snowball, try maintaining a calm and placid temperament.
As for lojolecs, your OH sounds highly aggressive if he's ready to punch a child for threatening his woman with a snowball. Has he always been an attack dog type? he will find parenting teenagers very challenging.

kokolp · 04/12/2010 12:30

YABU its a snowball its not going to leave any lasting damage

discobeaver · 04/12/2010 12:46

It isn't unreasonable to THINK he is a twat, but he isn't actually a twat.

He is a 15 y.o boy, it is snowing, it would not have crossed his mind for one second that he could have hurt you. It would be weird if he didn't chuck a snowball at you, tbh, it's what teenagers do.

tecerel · 04/12/2010 15:43

Oh come on he was only doing to be playful

SalFresco · 04/12/2010 17:12

When I was two weeks overdue, we went for a walk on a pebbly beach and a teenager, with his family, kicked a football which bounced off my bump, hard. It was sort of deliberate, but certainly not malicious - just thoughtless. If DH had gone and hit him, I think I would have left DH though!
