To think waitrose shouldn't use wrapping paper for advertising

A week ago I bought some Christmas wrapping paper in waitrose and had a surprise when I went to use it today. When I unwrapped the roll I discovered that inside the paper is a marked grid and waitrose emblazoned all over it. I am not pleased at my gift wrap being used as an advertising tool. Am I suffering festive tetchiness or are other retailers up to this trick?

Hardly advertising when you have already bought the paper.

YANBU. It's fine if they have a free wrapping service like they do in Belgium shops, but otherwise it should be clear what you are buying.

I have Waitrose wrap. I was delighted at the cutting grids, didn't really bother me about the advertising.
Boots wrapping paper has Boots printed on it, I recall.

Ah might be advertising for the receiver though ItalianLady.

(I'm just surprised we're still getting away with kitchen/toilet roll etc not being emblazened with logos).
