You know the one i mean?!! net mums

I like to have a little flick through the convos every so often but they are getting worse...so far this week we have had..

a row over that MP fella holding up formula milk on TV

and someone not wanting to start a row over a bottle warming thingy in boots.. but actually started a huge row over bottle vs the breast

AND People actually making complaints to the BBC over the MP fella! Do these people have nothing better to bloody do?!! i seriously dont get how you can be offended over seeing a formula box or a bottle!!!

It used to be good now its full of jumped up arseholes who try to bypass swear filters with to many bloody "!""$@@E££1's.. now i am fully turned mumsnetter.. fuck em i say!

RANT OVER...

I've not been over there since I got a warning for calling the resident drama queen well..... a drama queen.

jeanvaljean · 30/11/2010 13:16

I went there once, and my impression was that it was populated by chavvy skangers.

Sounds like MN TBH. There are 3 topicS guaranteed to cause ructions on a WW3 type scale: SAHM Vs WOHM, breast feeding vs bottle and anything talking about how well off or poor someone is. We are just not so liberal with our virtual hugs on here.

FellatioNelson · 30/11/2010 13:32

What are tickers?

1percentawake · 30/11/2010 13:34

Certain NM forums are very good and supportive esp if you need advice. I've never strayed beyond them but could imagine general and chat forums could be a bit Hmm

I particularly like going onto another Mums site where everyone posts as if they are texting - always good for a laugh!

TheSleepFairy · 30/11/2010 14:09

Fellatio Tickers are information about your children, pregnancy, weight loss etc.
They have pictures of the children & some are quite sparkly & erm... sickly?

So under your post on every post would be a pic of your child & a "pretty" picture telling every-one how old said child is.

Not that I wander over very often you understand Grin

Secretwishescometrue · 30/11/2010 14:33

Iv wandered over there but could find my way around Blush so got fed up and came home Grin ((I love Rollercoaster though Kerrymumbles))

Secretwishescometrue · 30/11/2010 14:35

Couldn't not could...

CamperFan · 30/11/2010 14:38

I thought you were being ironic, seeing as all those threads could be from MN! But nevermind hun, we all make mistakes xxxx

snowedinthesticks · 30/11/2010 14:38

I once tried NM but couldn't stand the spelling.

I found netmums first, but soon found MN and I don't tend to go over there much any more. The garish tickers (countdowns to births, countups from births etc) drove me nuts!

Can I state the obvious (risking a toasting here) that there is a place for everyone, and some will find NM more to their liking, and others will prefer MN? And some Shock can exist in both?

MardyBra · 30/11/2010 14:53

"risking a toasting" - imagining you as a marshmallow on a toasting fork...

moonbells · 30/11/2010 14:56

Hey Mardybra You didn't see me in front of the fire last night trying to get warm! :o :o :o

MardyBra · 30/11/2010 14:58

yum

propercrimbo · 30/11/2010 15:16

I love this thread, I have never been to NM but I have however been on a couple of others and am sickened by the following 'awwwwwwwwwww' (((((((((((((hugz))))))))))))) and txt spk wch u cnt undrstnd.... seriously that just took me about 10 minutes to write!!
I am so pleased I discovered MN today!

(((((((((((hugz girlz))))))))))))))!!!

I exsist on both however i am considering actually unsigning from there to be honest, especially as i read something earlier about the for sale board being like ebay..the only assumption i have us they mean they sell stuff?!

OP posts:
TheSleepFairy · 30/11/2010 17:28

I sold all my no longer needed baby items on NM.
Cot, clothes & toys etc - it's better than Ebay because there are no seller fees Grin
When the 3ft festival was in Chelmsford the tickets were really hard to get hold of so one lovely netmum bought extra tickets & I collected them from her house.
Last xmas DD wanted fucking waste of time and money go go hamsters & again another lady found the exact one I needed & delivered it to me.
So in that respect it's great, it's the fucking hugs & kisses & I am better than youness that get's on my nerves!!

SeaTrek · 30/11/2010 18:04

I thought that happened here, too.

I wish I could muster enough backbone not to go on any 'mums' site again, including this one. I know I am a better mother and everything else when I don't.

Anyway, YANBU, if you are going to frequent any mums sute, then this is clearly the best Wink.
