Last night he was in his home office messing about with a lap top for someone he used to work with.

I went up to tell him a film was starting one we had wanted to go and see but not got round to (the film was sweeney todd and was on channel 4 and the time was 9.36)
Now as I am not in charge of the TV programming or the running times of the shows, I can only assume something had over ran as it said it was on at (.£0 and it was now 9.36....still with me? Good.

So it goes like this..

Me: Sweeney Todd is coming on do you want to come watch it

DP: when is it coming on

Me: now

DP: so it is coming on at 9.36?

Me: (having not known the bloody time anyway) Yes it is starting not the credits have just started

DP: so it started at half nine

Me: no it is starting now right now

DP:things do not start at 9.36 it will have been on 6 minuets of not come on till 9.45

Me: stop talking to me like I am stupid it is coming on now starting now.

He just would not get it in to his head that the film was starting when I said it was and treated me like I was some sort of idiot.
So I gave up and went to bed.

I know he has some sort of undiagnosed autism, but he really really pisses me off

Sorry for long rant.

I would have just watched it and left him to come down when he was ready. Then if he'd moaned that he'd missed it tough

Yeah, that would have pissed me off as well.

A lot of programmes start a few minutes before the dot. Loose Women always does. He was being a bit of an arse, or are you thinking it was an autistic type of response.

He is always like this, had a massive row a while back because he ask when was dinner going to be ready and I could not give him an exact time.

He most defiantly has some sort of undiagnosed autism.

That would drive me mental.

YANBU. I think you did the right thing though. You will not get any logic out of a situation like that and it is not worth rowing about. You told him it was starting. It is up to him if he believes you, comes to watch the film etc.
