to expect the girl guiding xmas fair to comprise of more than just a handful of 'party-plan' type offerings?

Well if you didn't like what they offered perhaps you should volunteer to co-ordinate it next year.

If every parent gave just a few hours of their time these sorts of events could be fab. All too often it falls upon the shoulders of a few who then take the flak from those who do nothing but complain.

Am guessing we're both involved in organising christmas fayres Smile

Theres lots of things that can be done but it does need parents to volunteer to donate/contribute and man the stalls.

I totally agree, and get involved in plenty of other fundraisers for school, scouts and church.
This was the first year DD has been a rainbow, so I had no idea what the event would be like. She was disappointed so I am sad for her.
I don't recall parents being asked to contribute btw, otherwise I would've offered.
