AIBU - nerf machine gun

The only thing my 7yo DS would like for Christmas is the Nerf machine gun

Husband says I am being a 'bleeding heart liberal', I feel it's horrible.

Really need some input on this one ... is anyone else in the same position?

There is something about Nerf guns ridiculous orange plasticness that makes me feel more 'ok' about them than a more realistic looking replica style (I'm sure they did some focus group with mums to find that out and that's why they are designed like that).

Haven't encouraged it but DS2 is going through a big Nerf phase - including doing modifications on them - there is a whole subculture of nerf gun mods, reviews and movies on Youtube he's tapped into

On a £ per play basis they are pretty good value ... But buy extra bullets!
