Basically thought it would be nice to treat kids to a meal in the pub as husband on lates. Cut a long story short the food took ages to come, was awful burnt kids crap and my son was causing a bit of a fuss and wouldn't sit in his high chair. Then some mums I know through my daughter's school came in all glammed up and saw me struggling to settle my son and generally having a mare. I couldn't handle it really and decided to leave without eating my food. On the way out a group of giggly girlies watched as I struggled to get my writhing son into the pushchair and found it all very amusing. I left them by saying. ''You might not find it funny either girls, so just make sure he sticks a condom on!'' Was I being very unreasonable or am I just a hormonally challenged old bat?

YANBU....
Reminds me of a time I was in a family restuarant at 5pm on Saturday with DP and DD about 10 months old. At the next table behind me were a young couple about 16 on a date, (obviously not allowed out past 9pm) DD was sat in her highchair and kept giving a squeal when she saw food coming, and you could here the lad tutting etc. After a while she started getting stressy and wanted out of her high chair, I had about 2 mouth fulls of dessert to finish so thought "I will finish this then take her outside" when a male voice behind me said "who would have thought something so small could be so irritating". So I stood up turned round placed my hands on the table and right in his face said "In 10 years time when you are struggling with you child in a family restuarant, please remember this day and cringe". I have never seen anyone go so red in my life and to make it worse the girl was giggling.
After we left DP said the girl had been looking and smiling at DD, so we don't think they made it to a 2nd date lol.

I think it was funny Smile and ok because they were being a bit mean by laughing.

It was the perfect response.

You could maybe see if any local restaurants do a happy hour. Our local Italian and Chinese don't bat an eyelid when ds decides to sit under the table for most of the meal.
