Sounds reasonable and civilised, doesn't it?
Well he is still WIDE awake now.
Why do I have the incredible non sleeping children?

don't know...but if you find out can you let me know please? I have 1 fault twin who is currently protesting loudly at being in bed...

poorbuthappy · 22/11/2010 20:37

1 faulty twin that is...and I can't find the guarantee so won't get my money back.

MissBubbles · 22/11/2010 20:37

tvaerialmagpiebin · 22/11/2010 20:38

Snap. Mine was awake at 6.45 and I can hear him stomping about in his bedroom thinking up excuses to call out to me. "Mummy, my bear fell out of bed", "Mummy, are I still four when I am asleep". Grrr. I want to have a bath!!!

discobeaver · 22/11/2010 20:39

defineme · 22/11/2010 20:41

Missbubbles- have you ever consulted a dr? I have a couple of friends whos children were like this and melatonin worked wonders-it's very safe and can be brilliant.

StealthPomBear · 22/11/2010 20:41

oh dont talk to me bout melatonin lol my sons has adhd, sorry should have said that in post, and when we saw his consultant back in june she gave us a months worth prescription of melatonin and it was great but after that i couldnt get hold of any as my gp wouldnt prescribe it and said i had to go back to consultant, but having probs getting app with consultant, he due another app in december/jan

MissBubbles · 22/11/2010 21:05

going to ask the consultant about more melatonin tho as it worked well, but need to find a way to get them to give us some sort of repeat prescription without having to go back to them all the time as the consultant is in another area as i have now moved :(

MissBubbles · 22/11/2010 21:12

sorry defineme just realised my reply may have come across as stroppy, sorry, didnt mean it that way, its just thats its ironic you mentioned that medication when its exactly that medication i been having so much trouble getting hold of lol

Rocket100 · 22/11/2010 21:44

Hi MissBubbles

Rather than wait until Dec/Jan, can you ring your consultant's secretary and get her to ask him to do a letter asking your GP to prescribe the melatonin?

I'm a medical secretary - my consultants usually write their letters to the GPs updating them on the patient's conditions and asking them to continue with repeat prescriptions for medication.

MissBubbles · 22/11/2010 21:52

good point rocket100 the consultant did write to my gp telling them that she had prescribed the melatonin but there was nothing on the letter to say the gp needed to carry on prescribing it for me, i suppose maybe the consultant meant that to happen, but it wasnt worded like that, so i guess maybe thats why gp wouldnt give me anymore, i think best thing for me to do is as you say and ring up consultant, hopefully there wont be too much of a problem, but i can see me being asked to come in for an appointment before they will prescribe my son more, which i understand but being november i may have to wait a while :(
