To get through my "turning 30" crisis with Gene Hunt?!

I've been distracting myself from naval gazing by watching LOMmfollowed by A2A back to back over the last few weeks whilst snuggling my newborn dd...

Why is he so wrong yet Oh so right?! I feel like a teenager again Blush

As for the turning 30 midlife crisis, I seriously thought I could avoid it but find myself pondering my future and the last decade!!

Anyone else? And why do these birthdays turn into such milestones? I have just had dc number 2 and it feels such a watershed moment.

I think I just need to be called Bolly by a misogynistic dinosaur and swoon against my better judgement Grin

Xales He has a kind of charm which'll pull you in like a magnet.

I'd definitely DO House (and Wilson) but you can keep Gene Hunt.

Emptyshell-you wouldn't be able to resist Wink

He was on my flight on the way back from LA a couple of weeks ago. He has lost loads of weight. Looked really hot, though. Wearing a long leather coat.

Envy

Gene Hunt - utterly repellant but utterly sexy. All my feminist hackles would be up, yet I would so want to be manhandled by him.

forpitysake · 25/11/2010 12:34

cant agree with you more there, maud!
its oh so wrong but it would feel oh so right...Grin

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 25/11/2010 12:38

Exactly... I guess like most fantasies there is something dirrrty and wrong about them Wink

Gene Hunt appeals because on a very primitive level you know he'd look after you. No matter how confident and powerful women are these days there's still a teeny little part of us that craves that.

And he'd be funny at the same time. And as someone pointed out, there is that hidden sweetness.

Must. Stop. Now.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 25/11/2010 13:00

It is definitely the sensitivity...and that kiss on her forehead as they dance in the penultimate episode...

yes i completely agree with you all about how sexy he is and just WHY he is so sexy.......that whole alphamale taking charge and manhandling you....the idea of an actual relationship with him other than sexual is abhorrent but BOY would the physical side make up for everythign else Blush

abr1de · 25/11/2010 13:19

I think I must take issue with your name, poster above me!!!

How very dare you.

GeneHuntsMistress · 25/11/2010 14:24

Abride. I agree, I'm strong and in control all bloody day, dp is quite passive over most things. Sometimes I'd love a big manly man to take charge. I know feminism has done tons for womankind, but sometimes I just want to be looked after and bossed about a bit!

I've rediscovered my love of Bowie too thanks to the soundtrack - currently dancing with Ds to his platinum collection :) Ds has good taste for a 2 year old!
