for still having a comforter at 27 years of age?

Lynzjam · 21/11/2010 14:43

So it started when I was a baby. My mum would line my cot with a pillowcase so that when I was sick she could just whip it out instead of changing the bed clothes in my cot. I still sleep with a few of those said pillowcases!

I'm hoping my 10 week DD will become attached to a comforter too!

Anyone else still have their comforter?

Yay, more thumbsuckersGrin Nice to know I'm not alone.

I also have a nylon sheet which is threadbare now as nylon is impossible to buy these days.

This stems from the days I used to have a nylon nightie (70's child) which I used to scratch whilst sucking my thumbBlush

my d-i-l has her teddy with a ribbon with which she strokes her nose in bed-she is 41 !!!!!!

FairyFay · 21/11/2010 19:26

I have one, I'm 35 Blush, it's called my 'raggie' and was once a knitted blanket - I find holding on to it is a great stress relief. I can, and often do, sleep without it - but it's nice to know it's there

girliefriend · 21/11/2010 19:41

I still have a favourite teddy that I cuddle to sleep Blush Im 32!!!!

SoMuchToBits · 21/11/2010 20:14

Shock at icedandlemon's teddy living in the wardrobe! You must let him out you know, it's all dark in there....

LadyInPink · 21/11/2010 21:57

Fairyfay my comforter was also called a "raggie" when i was a kid though sometimes i called it a "niffer" - man i'd forgotten that! Grin

LadyInPink · 21/11/2010 21:58

Still have my childhood teddy - a Rupert Bear all threadbare and loved. My DD loves it and takes it to bed and even took it to school Friday for Children In Need day - i was understandably nervous as i love him still Grin

A1980 · 21/11/2010 22:00

I've still got mine and i'm 30. I don't sleep with it anymore though.

Goofymum · 21/11/2010 22:11

I do have my childhood teddy but don't need him for comfort anymore. Instead I have my adult comforters - caffeine, vino and chocolate.

HelenaRose · 21/11/2010 22:16

My ex was in his mid-thirties and had to sleep with his 'blankie'. He would get panicked if he didn't know where it was, and preferred to sleep cuddling it rather than me. Angry Can you guess why I ditched him? Hmm

TinyPawz · 21/11/2010 22:46

I still have a 'silky'. It goes EVERYWHERE with me.

To Africa (wedding and honeymoon), to hospital to have DD, to work!

Running joke within the family, but I don't care....it's my 'silky' and I love it!

BuntyPenfold · 21/11/2010 23:26

me and my teddy bear......

backwardpossom · 21/11/2010 23:28

Another thumb-sucker here. Only when sleeping, though... like that makes it normal !

musicmadness · 21/11/2010 23:35

I still have my duckie :) He lives on my bed in the daytime but I don't actually cuddle up to him to sleep anymore most of the time.

stealthsquiggle · 22/11/2010 22:57
Blush

maybe....

(not in my bed on a regular basis though, only when I am having a really bad time)

stealthsquiggle · 22/11/2010 22:57

iceandlemon that's cruel, you know...

KaraStarbuckThrace · 22/11/2010 22:58

Another thumb sucker here, at age 35 Blush
Only when I sleep or am stressed.

I also know someone much older than me who sucks her thumb!

NoahAndTheWhale · 22/11/2010 23:00

I still sleep with my best friend every night - no, not DH - Teddy Memmin! Not in the slightest bit concerned / ashamed - am normal, functioning adult!

Rhinestone · 29/11/2010 20:50

Oh, and I'm 35! Grin

PictureThis · 29/11/2010 21:02

I have one too, it's a muslin sheet and I call it my Nanky. I don't need it to go to sleep with anymore, but just like copping a feel of it every now and again.
