To want my housemate to shut the door when going the toilet?

New lodger moved in last week but I'm a bit disturbed by the fact that he keeps using the toilet with the door open. It's a small house so I can hear everything, including his lack of hand washing afterwards Shock.

I find it really creepy, especially when I'm home alone with him. He's normal in all other respects. AIBU to find this odd?

YANBU.

Have some sort of "house meeting" with one or two other innocuous rules that he possibly already complies with.
Chuck the pee-door thing in the middle.

If he's "normal", I'd wager he won't mind and will comply.

Oh yes the 'two to one' rule.

Give two items of stuff the person does really well and then follow up with the offending behaviour....

Rioja - I'm terrible with confrontation - very shy and timid.

The house meeting thing may work - we need to sort out a cleaning and rubbish rota anyway. I'll raise the suggestion with DP when he gets in.

Good idea, nice and informal over a cuppa and a biccie.... and then the old two, one.....

Do it! Your health depends on it! Grin

You know what the other name for the two to one rule is, don't you?

A shit sandwich. Seems appropriate.
