To have complained about the security guard

I was in Tesco's today, and some bloke had been shop lifting and got caught (good job too!) They were walking him(five of them by the way) past all the tills. When they got level with myself and my two children, a stupid female security guard came running up behind him, and elbow dropped his arm, and started punching him in the kidneys.

Well i was disgusted to say the least! She had no right to put her hands on him, he was not struggling and had his arms secured behind his back by five of her colleagues!

He was a very big bloke, 6ft7 minimum, and this made him angry, as i imagine it would anyone! And he swung around and it caused more of a scuffle, right next to my children.

So i made a complaint, and i will complain to her manager next time i am in the shop too.

AIBU?

Good for you redflag,

My husband is also very lofty, - a real pussy cat but could certainly 'chuck a fella' if he had to!

And no, he's not a shoplifter. Grin

Ha ha ha

Dh is not such a pussy cat unfortunately ha ha but he is to us Wink

His height used to cause a few fights when he was younger.

I really hate shoplifters, unless they are genuinely stealing to feed a starving family.

What on Earth was she thinking?

Give some people a uniform and they think they are above the law.

I know ItalianLady, Utterly disgraceful. I was the only one who said anything too, i actually shouted when she was doing it!

Everyone else just watched with their jaws swinging!

Good for you for reporting the incident redflag.
Sounds like she was 'pissed with power' in her uniform.

redflag · 20/11/2010 08:26

Well she is going to regret it when she is signing on! ha ha

Gosh...the security in my Tescos are lovely!

I would write to head office and I would consider repoting it to the police. WHat if that woman does it again and the person DOES fall on someone?

Doigthebountyeater · 20/11/2010 10:49

Report it to the police. Tesco might wipe the cctv to prevent the shoplifter having evidence so he can sue. He shouldn't be stealing but no way should anyone be punching him either.

Perhaps it's worth considering reporting the incident to whoever issues the SIA licence so her's can be revoked?
