Buy DS1 toys - as in figures and playsets.

DP says he is too old for them but I know he will enjoy playing with them.

When he gets fed up of the lego he can lend it to me :)

Yes he's getting 'older' and may not get 'years of pleasure' out of it, but he will enjoy it now and this may be the last year you can buy him 'toys'.

TheLadyEvenstar · 17/11/2010 23:16

Chippin DP and I enjoy these

As long as he wants such things YANBremotelyU to buy them for him. If he was saying that he thinks they are babyish or uncool, then it would be a bit daft to buy them for someone who wants something else purely because you want to think of him as your little baby a bit longer (not saying you are doing that of course).

mumeeee · 17/11/2010 23:27

My 11 year old nephew still loves lego and playsets. In fact when we were at my Dad's birthday party last week his 13 year old cousin also enjoyed playing with them.

SGB, I DO want to think of him as my baby forever!!! But I am in a quandry because as you know he is on the brink of a dx for asd and I know this is something he totally loves. But by the same token I want him to be a bit more grown up.

I will be buying them for him because I know thats what he wants - and he always gets what he wants [spoilt]

DS1 is 13 and he is getting lego for Christmas. He loves it and specifically said which set he wanted.

He could be asking for worse things!!

sunnydelight · 18/11/2010 04:11

Well my 17yo wants a Nerf gun so he can play with his 12yo brother Grin I tried the "aren't you a bit old?..." and was told firmly, no.

Lego is a great gift and educational as well.
My ds (23) had his saved for the day he has children of his own. As well as his trains and favorite books.
