We took on his sister's dog when she died a couple of years ago. Since then, its been me that walks the dog, grooms him, feeds him, makes a fuss of him, lets him out for a wee, etc etc. Tonight the dog peed all over the hall floor. Did DH get off his arse to clear it up? Did he buggery. I cleared it all up with an old towel, then asked him to mop floor. Did he? No. Just left it there. 2 hours later, I mopped it up and he couldnt understand why I was so livid. Apparently I can go and 'polish my halo' Hmm

type up an advert giving the dog away and put it in your front window. failing that - arange for a different relative/friend to have it long term. DH can always walk it if he has any real connection.

that's really disrespectful of your dh. I would be raging if it were me.

Get rid of the dog.

Or the DH.

Which one gives you more pleasure?

Joolyjoolyjoo · 14/11/2010 23:15

Ouch! I have a 15yo dog that was mine before I met DH. He gets (undersatndably!) annoyed about the pee/poo incidents but still cleans up (albeit grumpily) if he is first down in the morning. Yes, YANBU.

I wouldnt give him (the dog) away,he's 15, a sweetie, and it wouldnt be fair on him but am totally pissed off with doing all the clearing up especially when the dog came from DHs side of the family.

Also have to laugh at BiL (widower of late SiL) who merrily says 'oh I know the dog will have a better life with you....'

Get rid of dog or DH? Hmmm can I have a while to think about that one Hmm

Can you get a dog walker and get DH to pay?

follyfoot · 15/11/2010 00:11

Can I get a new DH and ask this one to pay? Grin

Sounds to me like he doesn't want the dog but tolerates it with the vaddition that you make all the effort towards its upkeep.
