OK will probably get flamed by some Pro-Piercing contingent of MN, but I think it looks horrible on babies/tiny girls. I think better to leave it until she is old enough to make her own mind up about it.

A1980 · 14/11/2010 00:51

It'll be painful and you'll have to clean them religiously with surgical spirit daily for 6-8 weeks. I'm sure a 16 month old will be happy with that. It might also be uncomfortable to sleep in.

She'll look soo cute though: personal taste but I'm not keen on earrings in babies.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2010 00:52

I agree with igetmorelovefromthecat.

AuntiePickleBottom · 14/11/2010 00:53

but she wont remember this though

A1980 · 14/11/2010 00:54

She's your child. Go right ahead. Sounds like you're convinced.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2010 00:55

Are you considering it to meet her needs or yours?

A1980 · 14/11/2010 00:56

Well it's never about the childs needs at that age. There are no benefits to having earrings at that age and she isn't old enough to express an opinion about whether or not she wants it.

Tortington · 14/11/2010 01:02

get her nose done and her belly button ( buy 2 get one free)

then park in a M&T space at the supermarket when she isn't actually with her, whilst wearing a T-shirt proclaiming that formula feeders are baby killers

Desiderata · 14/11/2010 01:06

Nooooo! Don't get studs. Get hoops. You can hang her from the Christmas tree. How cute is that?

AuntiePickleBottom · 14/11/2010 01:06

gof no, i loved formula feeding, how else could i out my nipple piercing in after given birth

Mooos · 14/11/2010 01:19

I think the gypsy girl look is so cute.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2010 01:59

You owe me a new keyboard! Grin

LoopyLoops · 14/11/2010 08:59

Just one ear?

YABU.

What the bleeding hell would you she want just one pierced for?

Twilightfan1 · 14/11/2010 09:08

I agree with igetmorelovefromthecat

Let her make her own mind up when she is old enough to ask for them. Just don't be like my Dad, and make her wait until she is able to earn and pay for them herself!!

piscesmoon · 14/11/2010 09:09

It is something to let her decide about when she is older. I don't think she will look cute-I would think 'poor little thing'.

deliciousdevilwoman · 14/11/2010 09:12

Pierced ears look tacky on very young children. Sorry, but they do. Why would you put a baby/toddler through the process just to fulfill some daft notion of "cute"? Does not make sense.
