The recipe says 3 tablespoons.

That just seems so... scant compared to the piles of dried fruit. It looks like a small EU Food Mountain.

Cake is out, cooked in just under 3 and a half hours.
Burnt my arm on the oven shelf though. Sad

Google black cake.

A whole bottle of rum.

And then some more. :o

Why are you trebling the brandy in the cake and not trebling the brandy in your glass as well?!

Come on get with the ettiquette of cake-feeding... bit for the cake... lot for yerself!

This thread has inspired me to try out Trinidad Black Cake (thanks, echt Wink), even though I had decided not to make a Xmas cake this year.

But I don't have all the ingredients at home, so instead of this I substituted that, and just left out the bitters completely. And, not having any rum, I have had to sample all my home-made liqueurs in order to choose a sacrificial victim. Mmmmmmmmm Grin.

Oh poor PrettyCandles! What a hardship having to sample the contents of the booze cupboard. That really sucks/
