To use my first ever post on MN to poke fun at DH?!

I know, I probably shouldn't!

I am on maternity leave (baby due in 7 days - eek!) and have been too busy sitting on my arse panicking about its imminent arrival to do any laundry. DH has been working long hours so that everything is ready for him to take time off when the little one arrives, so hasn't got round to any either. He discovered first thing this morning that he has absolutely no clean underwear and so has gone off to work wearing my ridiculous pregnant lady pants!

AIBU to find this absolutely hilarious? (I am completely prepared to admit that it may well be the hormones!)

ha!!!! i think my dp would have worn yesterday's rather than wearing mine..... i wonder which is worse?

are you sure he has actually run out rather than just having a bit of a thing for pg ladies pants???? hehehehe

colditz · 12/11/2010 11:29

YANBU It IS completely hilarious

Shambolica · 12/11/2010 11:30

I know?! I would have thought he'd rather wear yesterday's pants than mine!

oh well, takes all sorts...

PMSL Grin

I was about to suggest a text to one of his work colleagues but that might be too cruel.

PuppyMonkey · 12/11/2010 11:31

Or go commando?

Indaba · 12/11/2010 11:34

Oh, you poor deluded fool.

I feel sorry for you.

It was just an lame excuse to cover his tracks Grin

Shambolica · 12/11/2010 11:35

Well, I think I'll have to keep my eye on him from now on!

My DH would have worn yesterdays or gone without rather than wear my unders. I suspect this may be the reason for his (approximately) 40 pairs. I am not well known for housework.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 12/11/2010 12:14

You are not unreasonable to poke fun at your dh wearing your pg pants. You are, however, unreasonable not to post a picture, or at least describe the pants to us, so we can picture it for ourselves!

BeenBeta · 12/11/2010 12:24

Shambolica - congratulations on your first MN post. Given the topic you may wish to name change after this. Grin

I am a bloke and have to say that a rumage through the laundry bin, a rinse under the tap and a quick spin in the tumble dryer might have been my first option.

Did your DH seem ...erm... enthusiastic about his preferred option?

Shambolica · 12/11/2010 12:43

BeenBeta Thank you! And, I am completely shameless (as you can probably tell!) so may well not bother with the name change!

He was not enthusiastic at all - got cross with me for laughing at him and went of to work in a grump!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl Whilst I have no problem laughing at him with a load of strangers online Wink I think putting photos up would be a step too far!

You are probably right, Shambolica. Please forgive my nasty evil mind. Is it wrong of me to wonder if they were pink pants, though? Blush

nickelbangBANGbang · 12/11/2010 12:46

no, STDG was right! a photo of the pants would be brill! Grin

(you don't have to include his face, fgs)

Grin
Shambolica · 12/11/2010 12:47

I'm afraid to disappoint you - they were black! (I can't believe I am now discussing this in this much detail Blush)

Shambolica · 12/11/2010 12:49

He's at work and I didn't take a picture this morning! I very much doubt that he will give me permission to take a photo to put on the internet for all to see, but I can ask! Hmm

Big positive to be found here: aren't you happy that he chose the pregnancy pants rather than the lacy thong used for 'special' occasions?

deepheat · 12/11/2010 12:53

You're not shameless, it just isn't your shame that you're dealing with here Grin.

Well, mum did always tell me to wear clean pants...

Which reminds me of a story...when my SIL was looking for a wedding dress to wear to marry my brother, she found one she wanted to try on. As she was undressing she suddenly gulped as she remembered she was wearing a pair of my brothers (clean) boxer shorts as she had run, um, short, that morning.

The dress lady was very amused as she zipped my poor SIL up.

SIL did not buy a dress from that shop.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/11/2010 13:01

Having re read this, and not being a man, I am wondering how he will get his winkle out to pee? presumably your knickers don't have a hole/slot affair at the front?

nickelbangBANGbang · 12/11/2010 13:04

kreecher - as my ex used to wear "boy pants", I can answer this - they undo their belt and button and fly, then they push their pants down and lift their winkie over the top.

deepheat · 12/11/2010 13:08

That's true.

Shambolica · 12/11/2010 13:12

deepheat I suppose I should be thankful that they are my pg pants! DH said he had chosen them because they were "so huge!" BlushAngry

Tee2072 At least it isn't just my DH then!

kreecherlivesupstairs I have to say that hadn't even occurred to me. Thanks for giving me even more entertainment! Smile

Shambolica just think, if you went into labour today your DC's birthday would always be known as The Day Daddy Wore Mummy's Pants to Work.

JamieLeeCurtis · 12/11/2010 13:37

Never minds the pants. Impressive use of crossing out in first post. That's Advanced MNing
