To want to clatter DD about the head?

I've just gone to the kitchen to have a cig in the garden and noticed DD's lunch bag on the worktop.
she has been off school for four days with a virus and so has clearly got out of our routine for going to school.
I am so pissed off with her, I will now have to drive to her school, go to her classroom and give her the bag. silly mare. Should I make a big song and dance about it or just look very disappointed and hand it over whilst shaking my head, or go with my first instinct and clatter her around the head with it.
Opinions please, she is 9.6

My friends MUM has just arrived at her house for a week long visit and has forgotten her suitcases!!! We are all a bit forgetful sometimes.

Saying that though - when its my own daughters it does my head in so i feel your pain :)

Narky, there's not a lot of point. Me and DD will be returning to live in the UK next year.

Jesus, anything on mn can be bitched over cant it Hmm

Give the OP a break. I would expect my DD to be independent to some extent at the age of 9.6. And that would definitely include remembering a school or lunch bag. Dont see what the big fuss is over.

Plus, she was ^joking^ about the clattering. MN needs to develop a sense of humour.

Don't remove the thread - it was obvious you're joking. Gave me my first chuckle of the day (as someone who permanently has at least child who deserves clattering - love that expression).

Your clatter-worthy dd is very lucky to have a mother like you who cares enough to drive her blasted lunch to the school. Good luck with honing her organisational skills!

Then learn coffee and stroopwafels. If you're out- or she thinks you are- she'll have to remember. And you avoid the moaning and evil mother status get a smoother ride than you get by saying you won't bring stuff in

But, and I fear I am digging a deeper grave here narky, she needs to eat to take the antibiotics she is currently on. Which I put into her bag to give to the nurse. Which reminds me I'd better phone the nurse. Bugger.

What do the school do when kids are lunch-less, kreecher? Do they just let them starve?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/11/2010 12:40

I think they are expected to borrow a lunch card from their friends. I don't think the office loans money for it.

Ermmm scaryteacher - I suspect that ChippingIn was being a bit tongue in cheek and not entirely serious.

SDTG - I despair Grin
