I have just composed a rant on the page of a family member (distant-thank goodness) who has pasted a status all about muslims not observing rememberance day - burning a poppy etc etc - clearly rubbish. Shock

I am going to post it, even though it is likely to be seen by multiple family members (some of whom have "liked" it), and cause a massive family row probably?

AIBU to hope me pointing out how unlikely it is to be true etc is going to make any difference to their tiny minds?

Feel a bit shaky with anger Angry

I think if you feel really strongly about something then you should comment. Not to do so it bad for the soul; BUT before you comment leave it for 12 hours (just to make sure it's not wine or PMT induced).

I have just seen someone statue about this, i wonder if it is doing the rounds?!

victoriascrumptious · 11/11/2010 21:25

Regarding muslims, the majority people in society are stupid undereducated sheep. The first people they will try to silence is people who think critically about the world.
Critical thinkers are the minority...which makes it all the more important that we act with bravery and integrity when coming across intolerance and racist claptrap.

There ya go, 3 glasses of wine and i'm already a-ranting. 12 hr rule applies to facebook NOT mumsnet. Post your heart on mumsnet thats what I say

Coincidence - have just deleted a fuckwit friend, for posting an article in support of European MP being charged with inciting hatred, followed by Muslim Scum and an article about some poppies being burnt.

I felt better after I deleted him, but now I fucking livid again. This man is a TEACHER. Music admittedly, but still, would I be u reasonable to find out what school he works at and suggest they look at his fb profile?!

FessaEst · 11/11/2010 21:33

Wow, 3 glasses of wine and you are typing coherently and accurately - you are a better drinker woman than me!!! Grin

Yes. Very. As if you didn't know.

And wtf are you on about, "music admittedly"?

ApocalypseCheese · 11/11/2010 21:48

Yeah i've had loads of these today too, feel sorry for all the decent muslims tbh, all tarred with the brush of extremist twats.

LaWeaselMys · 11/11/2010 21:54

I mean he is less likely to be talking to children about politics. Not sure what you thought I meant.

Would you not want to know if someone teaching your child supported prejudice against others on the basis of religion? And posted about on a public site?

I bloody would.
