yes especially re page three girls and jordan and the rest
OR WORSE is when peopel say you are uptight because you need a shag
this is the WORST form of sexism and is often used on here. UNbeliveable

create · 10/11/2010 19:19

YABU I don't think it does, but I think it often makes you right Wink

TheSkiingGardener · 10/11/2010 19:21

YANBU. It often makes you look a tit even if you are right.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/11/2010 19:22

YANBU but then again i don't 'get' jelousy as an emotion anyway, its highly pointless, unconstructive and has never made anyones life better.

fairycake123 · 10/11/2010 19:32

YANBU. Always makes me think of Jodie Marsh because that is her instant reaction to any criticism.

2rebecca · 10/11/2010 19:32

I have never said this apart from light heartedly.

You sounds like you've done this before, BTP.

I can never work out if they're being serious, which seems totally unbelievable, or if it's just a reflex.

"ooh I don't really like those strapless wedding gowns" "cuh, you're just jealous"

of what? The enviable yet unachievable state of being without sleeves?

BertieBasset · 10/11/2010 20:44

My mother always uses this if anyone is anything but lovely to her children/grandchildren, "well they are just jealous because you are more pretty/clever/happy than them".

She says it without fail even when clearly not true and it is quite endearing. Not sure even she has used it in an actual argument though.

maighdlin · 10/11/2010 21:45

thank god there are other people like me!

no im not "jealous" of you i do actually really dislike/hate you due to your personality and i would rather do anything than be like you. How the fuck is that jealousy?????

im jealous of people with a nice house and good jobs and clean children not some up herself milly whorebag with fake hair.

sorry a rant but the thread reflected my day.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/11/2010 22:04

:o maighdlin

Out of interest what is a milly whorebag? Wondering if I can use that.

People who are jealous according to recent posts on MN:

  • women who have chosen not to marry their partners, jealous of, er - all married people I think?
  • women who don't like the tradition of name-changing on marriage, jealous of, er - people who do change their names?

The idea seems to be that if you say you don't like something/want to do something, you don't mean that. You mean that you secretly in your deepest heart want to do it, but are unable to (why? who knows!), and you are compelled to hide your bitterness beneath a tissue of lies...

TattyDevine · 10/11/2010 22:33

People who hate 4 wheel drives. It always comes out during those debates.

"I hate 4 wheel drives with a passion, particuarly metallic black ones with tintned windows, I'm very happy with my '02 Renault Clio"

"U iz jealus of my gangsta-mobile, pootling along in your poxy French pile of shite where red plastic goes to die".

Etc...

Mammie81 · 10/11/2010 23:07

I have a friend who continually says this whenever anyone disagrees with her and she is the most jealous of all the people I know. Its just projection.

I think generally its used by people who cant understand other motives. Jealousy is the easiest emotion for them to understand.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/11/2010 23:27

But it doesn't make any SENSE. Is it just an inability to see that others might genuinely feel differently to them?

dinosaurkisses · 10/11/2010 23:50

Milly- Chav. Commonly used in NI.

Whore-bag- I think you've got that one yourself ;)

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/11/2010 23:52

Cheers dinasaur. NI MNers must PTSL when they see Milly come up on the baby name threads.

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/11/2010 23:52

Sorry dinosaur

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 10/11/2010 23:57

Well, I suppose not always. It depends what the argument is...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/11/2010 00:00

That's why I said "almost always". I am sure there are instances where it would be appropriate, but I'm struggling. Come on, you're the writer, you come up with one :)

It only works if you let it, just find a negative about the person and insert it into your reply for example:

Your just jealous of my 4 x 4 Answer, hardly an expensive motor dosent stop you looking like a cheap tart.
