to think Take That should have told Robbie to sod off!

First of all, I used to love Robbie. I was never hugely into Take That first time round. But then when Robbie left and got good I loved him & went to see him in concert every chance I could - was a huge fan basically. Then when his music (IMO) started to get a bit duff four or five years ago and I got sick of hearing about his (reported) costant moaning and 'me me me-ness', I lost interest in him completely. I have really got into Take That since their comeback and think their new stuff is fantastic.

So I don't understand why they would give Robbie the time of day now? He used to be so rude about them all & how they've all amounted to nothing and he's so fantastic, etc. I'm sure that if Robbie was still as popular as he was ten years ago, and they hadn't had the big comeback they have, he wouldn't want to know them anyway. So why, when they're now doing really well without him, do they take him back?

BTW, the Take That stuff I've heard that they've done with Robbie so far, doesn't sound anything like as good as their pre-Robbie stuff, IMO!

Just realised how much I've waffled - so - AIBU?

Know what's really annoying? Jason Orange has been a mature student for the last few years, as have I. But a couple of hundred miles apart. That's unreasonable Grin

UnquietDad · 10/11/2010 15:57

What's he studying?

(Tries to imagine member of Girls Aloud going back to university. Fails.)

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 10/11/2010 16:00

Robbie is a talentless tosser.

ApricotWorms · 10/11/2010 16:01

YANBU. Robbie is a nobber.

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 16:03

I remember Jason Oranges foray into acting. I thought he was very good Blush But then I'd sit and watch him sticking matchsticks into his own poo. He's beautiful.

SuePurblybilt · 10/11/2010 16:08

He was doing Biology and chemistry I think (sketchy recall of Guardian weekend interview).
I bet his poo is very refined cupcakes. Metrosexual poo.

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 16:09

Oh God. Jason Oranges is perfect. Handsome, clever and looks like he smells like heaven. I bet his poo smells like Chanel Allure.

But alas his winky is for men only (allegedly) FGS WHY?

OMG he has a twin according to Wikipedia. I wonder if twin is identical and not gay?

SuePurblybilt · 10/11/2010 16:16

No, the twin will be a child-frightener. Bound to be.

I find that in my old age I am increasingly drawn to Howard. Gary obviously not, Mark is a weasel and Robbie an utter twunt.

Pootle78 · 10/11/2010 16:16

Yeah, Justin is his twin but Jason always was the better looking (or maybe it was just becuase hewas the famous one!)

Another here in the "I love Jason" camp Confused

fairycake123 · 10/11/2010 16:17

Robbie Williams is grim. My birthday present to my best friend this year was a copy of his autobiography, a can of lighter fluid and a box of matches.

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 16:18

You are right, SuePurbly. He looks a bit, well, challenged :(

Pootle78 · 10/11/2010 16:19

Sorry my spelling is appaling!

QuickLookBusy · 10/11/2010 16:38

I saw Jason in a restaurant last month. I saw him before we sat down, and when taken to our table I made sure pushed everyone else out of the way I sat where I could stalk see him.

He is a dream.

My DH told me after 15mins that if I didnt stop salivating, then we would have to leave.

I dont know what he was talking aboutGrin

I need to get a life...

YANBU, by the way about Robbie. I think it will all end in tears. Robbie's ego is far too big!!

MakingRisotto · 10/11/2010 16:39

Have to say, when I saw them in concert a couple of years ago, Jason was really sweet. bearing in mind, he'd always been 'the dancer' in the old days of TT, he got up and sang Wooden Boat and played guitar (his song on Beautiful World) and commented that he'd waited years to do that and that he'd been nervous about it.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/11/2010 16:48

They're just a pop group. It doesn't really matter, does it? So they think they'll make more money with all original members back in it. Either it'll go really well and they'll make more money, or it'll go really badly and they'll stop working together any more. Either way it won't affect any of our lives. They're just singers.

I should probably mention that I just don't get 'celebrity' worship. At all. They're just people. They don't matter any more than any other person on the planet.

QuickLookBusy · 10/11/2010 16:53

Yes thats all true Hecate, but then lots of things we talk about everyday dont really matter. We are just having a natter!!Smile

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 16:54

It does matter, though. It DOES!

QuickLookBusy · 10/11/2010 17:13

Shhh we know that really Cup. Was just trying to calm down Hecate!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/11/2010 17:19

Grin I'm perfectly calm.

I am the queen of mindless chatter! Hell, I'm on a thread atm about my son eating custard with bread!

I'm just butting in with the first thing that came to mind, that I don't understand why people care about 'celebrities' enough for it to even occur to them to talk about them. I'd love to know why they do. It fascinates me.

That's not spelled right, is it? Hmm

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 17:23

I don't think that we're doing sleb idle chit-chat really, i.e what does every1 fink abowt kerry catonas new hair lol

We're just discussing how the dynamics of a popular beat combo might be compromised/altered by the return of a member who left in acrimonious circumstances. It's a highly intellectual conversation, Hecate. :)

QuickLookBusy · 10/11/2010 17:27

Well I just find it interesting to talk about someone who I quite fancy/enjoy listening to/find entertaining.

It would be the same if he was the local postman, but you lot don't know my postman, so we can't talk about himGrin.

I would also quite like to talk about Louis Theroux but I guess I'd be in a club of 1Sad

Hmm custard and bread, sounds quite nice....

cupcakesandbunting · 10/11/2010 17:30

Oh no. Club of two, QuickLookBusy I love Louis :)
