do you actually care whether MN think YABU or not?

FlameGrilledMama · 06/11/2010 13:52

I do in fact I have been told IABU and changed because of it.

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 13:52

Nah,do you?

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 06/11/2010 13:52

I do. Very much so.

Animation · 06/11/2010 13:52

Good question.Wink

SecretNutellaFix · 06/11/2010 13:53

Sometimes. Other times AIBU is great for having a rant.

EdgarAirbombPoe · 06/11/2010 13:57

no. i hardly ever ask an AIBU quetion, because generally, by the time i have typed out the OP and thoght about it...I know which advice I am going to take. My own.

eg. i am pissed off with DH because someone phoned him urgently about a job (he has been unemployed 2 years now) - AIBU to think he should have got out of the fucking bath to answer the call? Of course i am not BU. No need to post it, therefore.

AIBU is a great way to drag a whole bunch of random wimmin on tinterweb into an argument between yourself and your DH.

badfairy · 06/11/2010 13:59

Nope Wink

aristomache · 06/11/2010 14:00

me neither Wink

OP posts:
Animation · 06/11/2010 14:02

Edgar - YANBU to think he should have got out the fucking bath to answer the call. Yeah.

ZZZenAgain · 06/11/2010 14:02

I can be swayed by the voice of MN

aristomache · 06/11/2010 14:07

I wouldnt be swayed tbh.

I do serve my kids fried foods, I do smoke, I do swear and I do drink,

I may feel bad about these things and I may BU Grin

but in reality, I'd just carry on doing them whether MN thinks it's unreasonable or not!!

too many knickers get knotted IMO

OP posts:
FlameGrilledMama · 06/11/2010 14:19

But aristomach I smoke I don't ask if IABU because I have no intention of stopping and I know I am. So if I ask I am unsure and willing to be swayed either Grin

Thingumy · 06/11/2010 14:21

No.

aristomache · 06/11/2010 14:21

so many people do ask stupid questions though!! and I always wonder if they really do care what MN think - hence this thread Grin

OP posts:
FlameGrilledMama · 06/11/2010 14:25

Or perhaps they worry too much what others think and do change Grin

LaWeaselMys · 06/11/2010 14:29

Not really.

I like the ones where no one actually says YABU/YANBU and have a chat instead.

EdgarAirbombPoe · 06/11/2010 14:29

animation maybe i should postit, i was quite pissed off, and very embarrassed to explain to the agency body that he was 'in the bath' ..he didn't get the job. was his reluctance to answer the call a factor? don't know. still, i am deffo NBU about it.

people telling me to chill about it wouldn't help much though, it's a done deal....

begonyabampot · 06/11/2010 14:35

Nope, never posted anything serious enough to give a
shite hoot!

begonyabampot · 06/11/2010 14:37

see the things you learn on Mumsnet? Can now and strike out and do links (first time ever this week)! Who says it's a waste of time!

Animation · 06/11/2010 14:50

Edgar - When I agree that you are deffo NBU about it, is my validation useful?

EdgarAirbombPoe · 06/11/2010 14:55

hmm. not as useful as me actually talking to DH about it would be,...

HecateQueenOfWitches · 06/11/2010 14:55

I don't think 'care' is the right word. But I think it can be helpfui to get opinions. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees and to have someone outside the situation give their take on it can be quite helpful.

And, as always, if you don't want opinions - don't bloody ask for them! Grin

aristomache · 06/11/2010 14:55

I'm surprised that no-one has pointed out the delicious irony of me postging this in AIBU Grin

OP posts:
Animation · 06/11/2010 15:00

Aristomache - yes, GREAT irony - there's no flies on you, and YANBU.
