In the middle of Plymouth city centre, I'd like to strap Vanessa George...

...the self styled 'paedo whore mum' (how she described herself to Colin Blanchard) into a pillory to force her to publically take account of what she's done and let her see how people feel about her.

(FWIW I don't believe in corporal or capital punishment and know they're wrong, but that doesn't stop part of my brain wanting to wreck medieval vengeance and mob justice on this woman for not only causing pain to her tiny victims and their parents, but also for the insecurity and suspicion she's spread amongst nursery users and workers)

I think she must know how most of us feel about her, unless she is mentally ill, which I haven't heard claimed.

I wouldn't go near the woman, even to throw rotten eggs.

Thingumy · 05/11/2010 11:26

I'd question the other staff mentality too,who thinks it's fucking normal to be shown pornographic images whilst working in a nursery?

EricNorthmansMistress · 05/11/2010 11:37

I think they were suggesting that there was a culture in the nursery of poor recruitment practices (read=VG was a mate of the boss) and poor supervision (read = senior/older staff members did what they wanted and younger/less confident members of stff didn't feel secure enough to challenge weird behaviour)
Think about it, if you were 18 and shy, and one of the bosses made you feel weird, but was the boss, or the boss's best mate, would you speak up? Especially if you didn't really have a clue about child protection. I trust my nursery as they are very open about their CP policies, and most of the staff are late 20s/30s and clearly experienced professionals, but that wasn't the case at little ted's.

YANBU though, I'm a pacifist and don't believe in corporal or capital punishment....but I'd like to fucking hurt that bitch.

CwtchyBlueMama · 05/11/2010 12:16

Just listening to this now on the Jeremy Vine show, its very sad for the children involved & what a deplorable woman she is.

As an aside have you read the comments on the link the op provided?

That makes me mad, basically blaming the mums for having the temerity to go back to work Angry

AgentZigzag · 05/11/2010 12:17

I want to translate the mental anguish she's caused into physical pain she can't ignore or justify in her head.

And she must have justified her behaviour to herself or she'd not have been able to live with herself for so long.

Perhaps the 'danger' in what she was doing was part of the kick she got, and that makes me even more frustrated.

YANBU at all.
I live in Plymouth, and work with babies and young children. When I first heard about the case, I actually was nearly sick ( I do live near the area where she worked)
The whole incident has tainted all our proffesional reputations and affected a lot of people I know personally.

I felt so sorry for her poor family - she had teenage daughters, can you just imagine what problems they will have in later life? The media were camped on her dooorstep for days afterwards so everyone knew where they lived... I think the family ended up moving away.
Angry Angry Sad

I just wish she would never be let out of prison.

AgentZigzag · 05/11/2010 13:48

Panda, what a betrayal for her family, how could you ever square it in your head that your mother had done such things? They're just more victims.

They only got 7 years Noel.

The 'justification' is that she had a man egging her on and telling her it turned him on. She was shown up in the report as having been a previously normal woman in terms of sexual behaviour but that, once she became involved with him, she was doing things like looking at porn on her phone and - obviously - taking the pictures for which she was convicted. Seems people all ages can be groomed...

AgentZigzag · 05/11/2010 16:04

I'm not convinced by an argument palming her behaviour off onto the bloke Chil, she isn't a vulnerable person taken advantage of, she knew it was wrong and did it regardless.
