To not want to be seen out in public with my DD?

My MIL is taking my DD to see the Peppa Pig live thing at the theatre.
She has bought her a peppa pig t-shirt, trousers, fleece, hat, boots and socks to wear to the show. I have to pick her up afterwards. AIBU to cover her up with a sheet so no-one sees me out with her looking like peppa pig threw up on her?

I hate, hate, hate character clothing and any bits (there are many) that my MIL has bought in the past are all reserved for pjs only.

(I should add that my MIL is a wonderful grandmother but we just have very different opinions on things)

Just bundle her up in a blanket and make a run for it Grin

Went to a festival this year and there was a whole family dressed as Peppa Pig, so just be happy your mil isn't insisting you all join in. The Dad looked despondent and uncomfortable in his pink shirt. My DS cried and ran away.
