AIBU to take some chocolate off my dd age 6

I am at my wits end with my dd's habit. She puts everything in her mouth - hair, sleeves, bits of plastic of the floor, cushions, her slippers - you name it she had it her mouth...she doesn't even realize she is doing it (usually when watching tv). We have tried reminding her not to do it, ignoring it and getting firm with her.
Today I went to pick her up from school and her top sleeve was soaking and all chewed. I promptly told her I was fed up with all her clothes getting ruined and that if I saw her chewing her sleeve by the time we got home (5 min) walk, she had to give me some of her halloween choc. She promptly chewed her sleeve and now she is in hysterics as I have taken a piece of choc away.....is it too early to have a glass of wine?

YANBU I worked with a boy in reception who actually use to chew holes in his jumper!

And another who use to eat tissue Hmm

So not uncommon but still frustrating

I'll have wine if you do Wink

YANBU - you warned her what the consequences would be and then you carried them out. At least your not one of those confusing mummies who says 'I wont tell you again' then 5 minutes later tells them again ..and again.. and again..

Next time DC misbehaves they wonder why they take no notice - theyre probably thinking - 'I'm only on my first warning got another dozen or so goes before she'll follow through'

It wont do her any harm to realise mummy maybe means what she says for next time.

YANBU. You did the right thing - keep doing it.
