To think DW should be able to tell the difference between parsley and coriander?

DW is very lovely, but has a small blind spot: she cannot tell the difference between parsley and coriander.

I find this very, very difficult to understand.

She tries, but somehow always gets the wrong one, generally coriander. I have run 'round the corner for a replacement countless times. Unfortunately the two do not substitute well for each other.

We're equally keen cooks, so this affects both of us.

Am I being unreasonable to think that anybody should be able to work this one out? Does this happen to anyone else?

That might have been me Hully. I'm not your friend, but I do do things like that. I've properly set fire to food before as well.Blush All my plans go fine until people arrive and start talking to me and plying me with drink. My DH gets quite cross.

I grew so much coriander and parsley this year we were chucking away loads and loads of it. The parsley is still going strong despite frosts.

Not as bad as a lawyer friend of mine who couldn't tell the difference between parsley and the large dope plant her partner was growing on their balcony. She used it liberally as a salad garnish when she had her colleagues over for dinner Grin

I love cooking curry and one night I realised I hadn't got coriander, so I sent hubby down to tesco for some, he came home with coriander seeds to plant in the garden!! I also had ginger in the fridge and he asked me why there was a white piece of dogsdirt in the fridge Shock
When you are going for herbs rub the leaf and smell, although some look the same the smell tells you what herb it is.
