I finish work in 2 days (including today) for mat leave. We have 2 bookable parking spaces available at our office, otherwise its a train & tube ride.

I booked 2 days (today and tmw) as theres a tube strike and I have office junk to move; and then tried to book monday, but was told that only 2 days in a row were allowed. Fair enough. But I then found out that the security guy who does the booking lets a certain person park there everyday! I was angry and made a complaint. End of, you may have thought....

Until today. This certain person has squeezed into the bike space. Someone else complained as she couldnt park her bike, so this woman has blocked in me and another person! I think this is disgusting - I could need the car at any moment at this stage (and even if I wasnt pregnant, I could be anyone, perhaps an external visitor)

The security guy has let her do this! And I know from a collegue who drives often that normally he would have made her move her car outside and pay at the meter.

Im really angry and have complained again, but I think she should be made to move her car now?!

I used to work for an organisation FOR people with Disablities (parents with disabilites as it goes). Our offices were in inner london so parking v.tricky. We had ONE designated parking space.

We got a new office manager who claimed it as his own and left his merc there every day. He even left it there when he went on a two week holiday. He didnt have any disabilities BTW. He was such a wanker. He also collected all the fans in the office and pointed them at his desk.

Did I mention he was a wanker?

Mammie81 · 02/11/2010 13:52

Theres definately something going on with them, because when I said to her that she should have been asked to move outside like everyone else is, and that I was going to complain again about security, she said "its not his fault, dont bring him into it". What an odd thing to say when effectively HE manages the car park...

I cant believe your boss left his car there, while he was on holiday. What a bastard.

it was 'selfish parker' although i know what i would have written!! Grin

A layer of chapstick along the wiper blade would be very effective, I imagine.

QuintessentialShadows · 04/11/2010 14:10

Is this woman exempt from the normal rules due to some disability you might not know about?

WildPansy · 04/11/2010 14:10

It sounds like your workplace isn't very big and you can easily get hold of her. I think blocking in needn't be a big deal in this situation, if you all know where to find each other. Annoying and definitely worth addressing in the long term but not really worth being livid right now. If you're seriously fretting about not being able to get out at a moment's notice tell her to leave her keys out. And then tell any nice co-workers to straighten out the situation before you get back.

bonfireblue · 04/11/2010 15:20

I think you definitely need to start some 'colleague shagging the parking guy' rumours before you leave!

I would love it if you tipped a glass of water down your legs and told her it was your waters Grin

Oh please please call her and say you've gone int labour and need her to move her car immediately
When she comes back from moving her car, if she spots you, just smile sweetly and say 'false alarm'

MumInBeds · 04/11/2010 16:15

Someone like that would just see labour as a chance to take your parking spot.

lazarusb · 04/11/2010 16:24

Wee on her shoes and tell her your waters have broken. That should give her a clue. Trollop. Grin
