That when people pull out of property transactions they should incur some of the costs?

Our buyer has pulled out days before exchange - we have paid for a survey on another property and incurred loads of solicitor costs for nothing. This is a stupid system. Don't really feel like going through this again. For the people we were buying from this is the third time a transaction has fallen through.

Totally agree bumperella, but as the surveys are now done by the sellers in the home reports then that takes that continuous survey after survey out of the equation too.

I honestly think our system is much better and gives everyone much more peace of mind. I couldn't stand trying to buy and sell houses in England (and Wales? or do they have yet another system), it's a stressful enough time and the system should be as easy as possible.

At least with the home reports with surveys included in them, you can just request them from estate agents, see how much the house is valued at, what needs to be done for repairs etc. and any other info. Waaaaay better than the last system we had.
