Sarah Jayne off Mighty Mites and Katie off I Can fucking Cook

Am on the sofa with laryngitis so am allowing DS (3yrs) a telly day.

Not sure that my faculties are able to cope with twat Katie closely followed by that whiney voiced woman-child Sarah Jayne.

Would love to make them cage fight each other in suits made of sandpaper, the really coarse stuff.

They need to take copious amounts of drugs to keep them sane haa haa.
And also so they can face their friends who said drama is not a real degree it will take you no where. Grin

ApricotWorms · 01/11/2010 22:34

Mighty mites!
Mighty mites!
What a big load of shite

SJ is demonic, probably goes home and stabs puppies.

SunnyDays06 · 01/11/2010 22:42

Apricot ha ha!! I can't stand the woman. She looks like a drag queen and why oh why oh why does she have to stick her neck up when she does that fake smile. Maybe to get the tone of her voice a bit sqeekier!

bran · 01/11/2010 22:54

My biggest problem with Katy is that she reminds me of the actress from Tipping the Velvet. I keep expecting her to turn sideways and be sporting a huge leather strap-on, which is very disconcerting when watching children's tv. Blush Otherwise it's an okay-ish programme.

Sarah-Jane, as has already been mentioned, is truly irritating and should be banished to a part of the world where they don't have any sort of recording equipment. (I've heard that the heavy make-up is due to bad skin.)

twinklingfairy · 01/11/2010 22:57

So how old is SJ anyway?
Can't believe Katie is only 23 either!

ghoulishglendawhingesagain · 01/11/2010 22:59

Born in 1974 according to my secret source wikipedia

SparklyJules · 01/11/2010 23:06

I think SJ is creepy. It's the desperation behind the smile.

I think Katy looks like she's silently screaming "you're doing it WRONG" when she watches the kids making a hash of cutting up herbs or whatever.

DirtyMartiniOfDoom · 01/11/2010 23:09

Oh that's my age! I thought she was a bit older.

It looks to me like she's had Botox and/or fillers in a quest for eternal youth, and they've ended up making her look older somehow. Combined with the bunches and squeaking, it's edging towards creepiness.

stressheaderic · 01/11/2010 23:17

DP fancies Sarah-Jayne, and, I suspect, secretly pervs at her under the pretence of letting DD watch Cbeebies. She's only 8 months old though and much more of a Come Outside/Show me Show me kind of girl, both of which shows I can just about tolerate.
Zingzillas, however

lancaster · 01/11/2010 23:32

I was just thinking about starting a thread about SJs awful hair extensions and make up today. What were hair and makeup thinking when they came up with that combo?

Diziet · 02/11/2010 14:41

Hmmm, SJ born year after me then.
Not sure about CBeebies dressing Grown Woman as child: Hen Party, yes, Kid's TV...Hmm
Like her tattoo though. Grin
Warming to Katie a bit more. I reckon they've based her look on a young Delia Smith.

mrskbpw · 02/11/2010 14:49

Do you know what I hate about I Can Cook more than anything else?

The stupid, WRONG, unnecessary lower-case i. "i can cook"? Perhaps you can, but you can't punctuate, can you?

cupcakesandbunting · 02/11/2010 19:17

Should be called "I Can Kind of Cook" because that ain't cooking. It's throwing food into a ramekin and hoping for the best.

OP posts:
sethstarkaddersmum · 02/11/2010 19:20

compared to Big Cook Little Cook, believe me, that is cooking.

cakewench · 03/11/2010 15:07

count me in as another one amazed that Katie is only 23. I thought she was at least 5 years older. What is aging her? Hmm Anyway, as soon as I hear them going on about sliddy dippy soap, I turn the TV off. I'm sure she's a nice person, but once I hear the song, it's in my head the entire day. Angry

MrsSnaplegs · 03/11/2010 15:19

My DH claims it is one of the things that makes his role as SAHD so enjoyable - the "permission" to sit and watch some CBeebies with our DD which means he gets to see SJ and Katie Grin - bless he has to have some fun! We actually saw SJ at a local Dogs Trust event a while ago and DD didn't recognise her in RL!

SlightlyJaded · 03/11/2010 15:26

I grant you SJ is irritating and looks a bit unhinged but really? More annoying than Miss Hoolie from Bala-fucking-mory?

Even DS covers his eyes and says 'no thank you' when we come accross her

sethstarkaddersmum · 03/11/2010 16:04

I don't like watching Miss Hooley because I have heard on Mumsnet the grapevine that she is not very nice to starstruck children in person. Whereas all the stories about lovely lovely St Justin of Fletcher just make me watch Gigglebiz with even greater adoration.

SebastiansMama · 12/11/2010 15:23

AND SJ has a fairy tattoo, she IS the voice of Panzee bokes and is a vegan. Need I say any more?

tethersend · 12/11/2010 15:42
is quite impressive, but does not make up for the horror that is mighty mites.

I was overjoyed when MM came on this morning and DD(23mo) looked at me and said "I don't like it mummy" Grin

OneTwoBaubleMySanta · 12/11/2010 16:46

The bits I love on i can cook are at the end when you occasionally get one child at the table who isn't eating, you watch they show all the other children as close ups and there is one in the big shot looking sullen with a full plate!
