Is it a new trend that I have missed?

IIRC fireworks became 'popular' for all types of events after the turn of the millenium. or at least they seem to be round here.

frigging waste of money and a bloody nuisance.

They are now letting off those floating lanterns too. At least they are quiet.

Fireworks go off here from late september to february...

BibiBlocksberg · 31/10/2010 20:57

My question exactly!! Just because they're available to buy doesn't mean they should be let off now. We've had them for the last two weeks - makes one of my cats all jittery. Idiots!!! :(

pintyblud · 31/10/2010 21:01

Because it's a fun sorta night?

lazylula · 31/10/2010 21:14

Our neighbours have, but that is because the wife is working nights next weekend. Mind you, they did choose to do them just as ds1 was going to bed, so now he has had a very late night before school tomorro, early night tomorrow I reckon!
