JoBettany · 31/10/2010 14:57

My DS loved them but I haven't seen them for years. I used to think one of them was quite nice...

Spinkle · 31/10/2010 15:05

My DS is terrified of them [hshock]

I'm not.

RipMacWinkle · 31/10/2010 15:06

I bet they don't give a monkeys what they look like.

They're minted!

We went to see them on tour.

Was a bit funny watching 4 millionaires dancing and leaping around on stage for the amusement of a load of 4yos.

YunoWhatYouDidLastSummer · 31/10/2010 15:36

(PS I would do Anthony.)

(Y'know, if I had to
)

YourCallIsImportant · 31/10/2010 15:38

Apparently they earn more per year than Kylie. Shock

SarahStratton · 31/10/2010 18:37

I confessed on Chat to the blue Wiggle being one of my secret crushes. I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

HowsTheSerenity · 31/10/2010 18:41

You have to give them some credit though. Most are trained teachers. They refuse to be spokesmen for any junk food etc and they filled a necessary gap in the market.

The best thing is that now Lowes (think m&co for men) stock skivvies in all the wiggles colours so you never need think of an idea for a costume party!

ZZZenAgain · 01/11/2010 09:19

PMSL at Bucharest an the post-modern and ironic trousers.

OMG Captain Feathersword - used to really, really annoy me. I never understood just what was the point in him

Same with Dorothy the Dinosaur really, just wtf really? The car was good though, the big red car

dementedma · 01/11/2010 10:32

anyone had to endure familiar with The Singing Kettle?
All together now "Spout, Handle, Lid of Metal,
What's inside the Singing Kettle?"

QOD · 01/11/2010 10:40

I love The Wiggles :o

DD fell for them when she was nearly 2 (nearly 12 now) - I joined their online fan club/board in 2000 and made some brilliant friends.
Won "A Tea Party With The Wiggles" in 2004 ish and won my DD's eternal love & gratitude (except that she looks at me blankly now and says did we go?)
We saw them in 2001 and MET them backstage, Paul Paddick (Captain) is phwoargeous and Ant & Murray were adorable too.

We met them in Brent Cross and of course the tea party and when I last saw them in Brighton, the blue one, Anthony said "Hi QOD" from the stage (I was actually very embarassed as I was obviously aquiring stalker status LMAO
AAAAh we had a great time, good clean fun, good clean fans, good clean message boards.
memories

star trek convention

badcoverversion · 01/11/2010 12:42

Greg got struck down with a debilitating illness didn't he? I saw a doco where he was talking about his vast collection of Elvis merchandise...it was pretty fucking ace.

My favourite is the fruity one who has the eyes of a sociopath...and Anfernee is a bit of a one.

ImASlatternGetMeOutOfHere · 01/11/2010 12:55

Are they on any of the TV channels at the moment?

DC1 loved them as did DC2 but DC3 has only seen them in passing and I am sure he would enjoy them to. Though he does luuurve the Imagination Movers.

epicfail · 01/11/2010 13:10

Anferneeeee was Aust Bachelor of the Year in 1999.

exexpat · 01/11/2010 13:34

Our wiggly days are past thank goodness but we still have all the videos/DVDs, and even the rare first CD featuring the fifth wiggle....

DS was obsessed for a while, and we happened to visit Sydney once when one of the Darling Harbour monorails was done out in a Wiggles theme - Dorothy the Dinosaur & co all over the outside, top Wiggles hits playing on loop inside the carriages - we must have spent several hours on that train in the space of a few days, and I was going crazy by the end of it.

There was a brilliant spoof story about the Wiggles breaking up a few years ago - the original blog it came from seems to have disappeared, but there's a copy of it here.

aliceinlalaland · 01/11/2010 13:50

I couldn't stand them initially but have grown strangely fond of them. They do have a way of getting under your skin.

Anyway, this thread has reminded me of a drunken conversation with DH a couple of months back - "if you had to shag a wiggle..." Oh how we laughed.
DH was sure I'd go for Sam but it were Anthony Grin

exexpat · 01/11/2010 13:54

Oh yes, Anthony is definitely the hottest one best singer...

I once spent a couple of hours in a Sydney restaurant trying not to stare at him at the next table (and this was before I had children).

IAPJJLPJ · 01/11/2010 19:17

what happened to the 5th wiggle?

exexpat · 01/11/2010 19:53

He chose musical integrity over hot potatoes and singing dinosaurs and is now bitter and poor a classical musician. Story about him here.

countrybump · 01/11/2010 20:15

Odd yes, but we love them in our house. We went to see them in Southampton this summer and they were fab. It was a small venue, and the wiggles came into the audience and greeted each child there. Made my DS feel very special.

And I love the new yellow wiggle!

NeverendingStoryteller · 01/11/2010 21:13

I liked them when they were the Cockroaches, but I was only 12 Grin

pointydog · 01/11/2010 21:29

var odd

icapturethecastle · 01/11/2010 21:30

We love them here - yes odd but still brilliant - imo! Murray is my favourite. I have a photo of him playing the cardboard guitar I made for DS for the concert this year - yes that is very embarrassing and really should have namechanged!
