To want to stand and jump on the seats at Jamies Olivers' restaurant

Because that's what we had to put up with this weekend.

Went for an early dinner and as so often happens a pig-ignorant mother and father allow their 3 children to use the restaurant like a playground. FFS why do some parents think it's okay for children to stand on seats and scream. I really don't understand some people and I dread to think how these children are going to turn out. Not their fault - their parents'.

It ruined our dinner and many other around us as I could see eyes rolling and heads shaking.

Maybe you should have asked the staff to have a word with them?

I know how you feel, some people just seem to have no concept of disciplining their children.

where they JO own? Is that why nobody did anything but rolling their eyes?Smile

I did complain to our waitress and all she said was that they were nearly finished (like that made it better). I wanted to speak to the manager but DH hates confrontation and told me not to.

I am surprised that the staff/management did nothing.

I imagine they did not want to loose the custom of that person which is silly as they probably now lost the custom of most of the other diners.

Grr lose!!!!!

Perhaps if staff unwilling to do something, go up yourself and tell them that they are spoiling your enjoyment of the meal.

Once you said something, if they challenge it, loudly address the rest of the restaurant with 'Who else is having their meal spoilt?'

Write to the restaurant and state that you requested the staff to have a word but nothing was done. they may offer you another meal free...

BTW, you should have asked for the manager.

yes, never complain to the waitress, they won't do much IME except fob you off and sympathise.
Always ask for the manager, you don't have to give a reason.

Its not acceptable for anyone to be standing and jumping of chairs in a restaurant.
