My boy who i spent weeks getting to stop in bed (after waking me up 2-3 times in the middle of the night) til 6.30-7pm is now back to waking at 5am thanks to the friggin clocks, newborn will be here in 4 weeks too which = no sleep. I never realised how much dh snores til now either so we've been sat waiting for cbeebies to come on and now are watching bob the builder.......

5am here for me, I'm bribing DS (nearly 2) with some time on my knee on my old laptop so I can have tea and some MN time. He has had a temperature for the last 2 days (yay, it's normal this morning) and was up late last night, and DD (9weeks) was up for feeding at 11 and 3-new-time and so today is going to be Long. DH is snoring, I shall have a nap this afternoon if DD lets me.

Yanbu.

It sucks. I wish they would leave the bloody clocks alone.

Pity the poor night shifters - an extra hour's gracft last night and no extra pay! (NHS)

SlartyBartFast · 31/10/2010 07:01

its just me, dc's carry on sleeping.

i try to spend the day with the old time but it gets out of synch at some point.
and the dc's are going out trick or treating later so that will confuse the issue.

i cant understand why i woke before 6 - Shock
old time before 7, still far too early.

thats crap for the nhs workers! What happens if you have you baby at 2am (is that when they go back) do they put 2am or 1am....?

nickytwotimes · 31/10/2010 07:13

aye!
they don't lose an hour when they go forward though.

nickytwotimes · 31/10/2010 07:13

nb: not sure if all trusts work this way, but they do this here.

vinocollapso · 31/10/2010 07:14

I was thinking that here must be thousands of us all cursing the clock change (and we still have the loud fireworks to wince through yet, fingers crossed ds sleeps through them).

I could cry. DS is 14 weeks old, and normally wakes at 5am. So we were up at 4am, though thankfully he's now napping. But it sucks, and it's going to be a long day. And my left nipple hurts for some unknown reason that the doctor can't seem to work out. Plus, just to add insult, my DH has just asked me for a quickie. Ha!!

Joy.

The things that come out of some men's mouths: a triumph of hope over experience.

MoChan · 31/10/2010 07:23

Completely envious of poster who said that they just put the children to bed an hour later. If only that actually worked FOR ME.

vinocollapso · 31/10/2010 07:27

MoChan - doesn't work for me either. 5am is wake up time for ds, and he wakes every 3 hours for a feed. On the dot. I'm just thankful that we can piece the day back together earlier. I'm dreading tonight though, in case we get ambushed with trick or treaters, ringing the doorbell. I may remove the batteries, evil witch that I am...

Georgimama - right on, sister.

Feenie · 31/10/2010 07:27

I have trained ds to stay up an hour later all week, and by Wednesday had him sleeping till 8am (sooooo lovely) in readiness for clocks. However, he was so excited about Halloween that he was up at 6 (new time). Bah!

sheeplikessleep · 31/10/2010 07:32

Is it lunchtime yet?

pinkyp · 31/10/2010 07:36

Me too! I really hope they decide to stop all the clock changing.

When the clocks go forward, my youngest sleeps later ... That gradually goes back to 6:30am wake up through the year, then when the clocks go back, we're up at 5:30!

He could go to sleep at 6pm or 11pm and still be up the same time too. It's rubbish!

Kniternator · 31/10/2010 07:50

God knows what time DS1 was up, he is an early riser anyway. DS2 woke me up at 6.15, been watching Ben 10 in bed and I am refusing to feed them til 8.00am.

magna · 31/10/2010 08:19

It does get better. DS1 (5) put to bed at 9 last night still in bed now .

Then we have DS2 (2.3mo) who went to sleep at 8.15 last night and woke at 4.30 this morning . we have sat in living room just lay on sofa chilling watching gruffalo again and again.

Well at least it worked for one of them Hmm

aendr · 31/10/2010 08:36

Nicky: they do it in at least 2 trusts I know of... but don't pay the disappeared hour the other side.

pinkyp · 31/10/2010 14:39

is it bedtime yet?
