use and appropriate seatbelt for her daughter?

In a few scenes in that last series Princess was using a 3-point seatbelt, which I thought was illegal for under three's. And in the latest episode she didn't seem to have any seatbelt at all!!!

Thank you HerBeatitude, that's what I was thinking as I read this (your first post I mean, not the one about orange Grin).

DS (3) has a dummy sometimes, and wears nappies. It's not harming his development; fwiw, his speech and vocab have always been brilliant and his teeth are great. He is just extremely attached to the notion of his dummy, really adores it, and it's not something I feel a need to force away from him in an upsetting way, because frankly he's still very little. And he is very uninterested in toilet training thus far, but we keep trying and offering and endeavour to stay calm about it all. ALL the threads I read on here about that issue (and there are many, because yes I do care) are normally packed with folks saying it is absolutely pointless to force them into it when they are reluctant.

Anyone who thinks that makes us lazy and crap parents can shove it, frankly. Grin

foreverastudent · 30/10/2010 10:44

I'm always Shock at the number of 3yos in nappies. Is there ever an explanation other than lazy parenting/child with a disability?

ditavonteesed · 30/10/2010 10:52

how is keeping a 3 yo in nappies lazy parenting, I took dd2 out of nappiuies several times, for weeks, she would wee and poo herself constantly. really horrid for her, eventually we gave up, tried again later and it worked perfectly, it is about a physical ability not being lazyu ornnot.

Meglet · 30/10/2010 10:54

Loads of 3yo's are in nappies. DS was pee-ing every few mins until he was 3.3. We finally cracked it at 3.6, dry at night too. Some children just take longer to get the hang of it.

FWIW I always judge KP as she seems incapable of wearing her own seat belt.

MuGGGhoulWump · 30/10/2010 10:54

I'm always Shock at the number of parents who potty train for months and then insist on saying their kid was out of nappies at the beginning of it.
Yep, they might be, but having accidents for months is not trained and rushing them to the loo every two minutes with no warning is no fun for anyone.

I just don't see the harm generally of having a dummy or letting a child potty train of their own accord.
I sucked my thumb until way older than three and still have a comfort object now!

ShirleyGarrote · 30/10/2010 10:54

MN is getting right on my cock at the moment. I might just fuck off for a while

Tortington · 30/10/2010 10:55

i dont see whats wrong with either tbh, whatever makes life easier i say.

if i had her money, i would pay people to potty train her

Tortington · 30/10/2010 10:55

katie not the daughter BOOM BOOM

bigchris · 30/10/2010 11:01

I agree with ronshar
peter Andre also sells his life to the media, lets his three yr old have a dummy and wear nappies
no one calls him a shit parent
in fact he recently won dad of the year Hmm

Katie manages a highly successful brand - herself. Considering all the media and schoolgate bitchy mums backlash, her brand is still raking in revenue, so quote a few thousand people like her. This kind of success has to be applauded.

I've often wondered why her image has received such a battering since the divorce from Pete, people forget that HE walked out on HIS FAMILY, not the other way round, yet his management have kept his image so squeaky clean.

'Appears' to wear no seatbelt? Anyone familiar with shooting scenes for TV? I'm not, but I can guess that a man with a cam and a soundman are in that vehicle at the same time and none of them have seatbelts on either (how can they operate large equipment with them on?) and the scene's a trundle, with the vehicle not even in motion.

It's all so superficial, I can't believe supposedly intelligent women like yourselves actually buy into the brand 'image'.

You really do want to believe that Katie is a slutty, bad mother, don't you, just because you saw this on TV and portrayed in celeb trash mags, just because she's pictured holding a mobile phone whilst driving, she must be committing an offence. was the car in motion? Does the photo show that? Have you any idea how much a photo like that is worth to the press? The story that can be put against that picture generates REVENUE for whichever publication buys the photo.

You can have an intuition about someone sure, but until you've met them and know them in real life, it's shameful to be so prejudiced, get a grip, i't's all a BRAND, the reality documentary, the photos, the news stories....but ulitmately her brand does actually thrive on the very thing that could bring it down, women's natural bitchiness is what keeps it controversial and alive! Now that's clever, and somehow I think that's all down to Katie's natural abilities, business sense and drive, not some management team.

grapesandmoregrapes · 30/10/2010 13:15

Propinquity - yes the car was in motion, in both the scenes, one where princess is using a 3-point seatbelt, and the other where she either has no seatbelt or it is underneath her arm!

What the camera men do is their responsibilty, what happens to princess is KP's responsibilty, and what she is doing is not only illegal, it is extremely dangerous.

For the record - in Peter's tv show princess is secured with a 5-point harness.

oh ffs!

Peter fucking Andre is just as bad as she is...she gets portrayed as a shit mother and he wins father of the year!

he's just as media hungry and fame seeking as she is...he just tries to act the perfect father etc

cant stand him!

Eve4Walle · 02/11/2010 12:18

Someone I know uses a booster seat for her 2 year old. So KP isn't alone.

cupcakesandbunting · 02/11/2010 12:54

"i notice nobody has decided to answer my point about bf a 3 year old 'for comfort' why is that ok please."

It's not OK, it's weird.
