They also do Chicken flavour.....

I wouldn't assume they are THAT processed - I haven't seen them, but bear in mind they are a "frozen" product, and as such might be pretty untampered with.

The meat will be cooked. But it is still 100% chicken breast. So even if it was pre cooked, or chopped up in a food processor, its still chicken breast, and it will still end up chopped up by the time it reaches your stomach!

Its a different story if it says "at least 80% chicken". That might mean any and every part of the chicken, including foreskins and hock burns and god knows what else, and then 20% something else to make it into a "substance". That's a different story altogether.

Its convenience food at its worst, I know, but not MASSIVELY different to a panini that you get in starbucks - something pre-assembled with pre-cooked meat etc, that is then toasted to serving temperature. Some would say they are not very nice either but of course food is all down to personal taste.

SixtyFootGhooool · 29/10/2010 12:05

hmmm

Quite like the look of it myself

But then my fave snack is super noodles ( when the DCs arent around of course)

hocuspontas · 29/10/2010 12:06

My comment was to MaMo Salty, try and keep up Grin

Ryoko · 29/10/2010 12:14

It's a pop tart I used to love chocolate pop tarts.

I still live like a student I hard Farleys rusks with milk this morning.

MaMoTTaT · 29/10/2010 12:15

oh I don't know hocus - I've been served up boiled vegetables in the past that have literally had the life sucked out of them, they hardly looked like vegetables anymore Grin

saltyair · 29/10/2010 12:16

That was to you hocus Grin

saltyair · 29/10/2010 12:16

There will be people all over the country getting the sprouts on this weekend for Christmas....

OP posts:
hocuspontas · 29/10/2010 12:23

Mmmmm can I come to dinner MaMo? Not.

hocuspontas · 29/10/2010 12:23

salty - that was to MaMo. Ignore.

MaMoTTaT · 29/10/2010 12:27

I said I've BEEN served up - not that I have served them up Shock

My DS's usual complaint about the veg is "it isn't soft enough" Grin

tittybangbang · 29/10/2010 12:29

Ah... now I know what they are. DD was describing them to me this morning. Asked me to buy her some. Shock

You know when you are about to be sick and you have those little eggy burps that you can't control and your mouth fills with saliva? Thats how I imagine the egg and bacon one tastes. sorry.

saltyair · 29/10/2010 13:57

Aubergine that is both inspired AND gross. What do you imagine the chicken one's are like? Grin

OP posts:
saltyair · 29/10/2010 13:59

shit apostrophe failure.

OP posts:
ChessyEvans · 29/10/2010 14:08

I completely agree with OP but have to admit I hadn't checked ingredients (didn't intend to go anywhere near them and therefore had no need!). I did expect them to be "chicken flavour" in the same vein as "cheese food slices" or similar. They look completely revolting... Surprised to hear they are chicken breast etc.

It's the same concept as those fridge raider bags you get of chicken pieces though, they're advertised as being real chicken but I'm sure they must be full of rubbish. Mustn't they?

MaMoTTaT · 29/10/2010 14:12

they are now available at Tesco for a special offer price of £1 according to mysupermarket Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 29/10/2010 14:20

Crosses gingers they are still available when I go Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 29/10/2010 14:21

Actually I don't have any Gingers, I do however have fingers Blush

MaMoTTaT · 29/10/2010 14:22

Apparently they're already a best seller in Germany!! Launched in 2008 Grin

and I liked the idea of crossed gingers

hocuspontas · 29/10/2010 16:20

Anyone found the ingredients? 100% chicken breast usually means that the part that is chicken is breast but the bit that is lard, bulk and entrails isn't.

PlentyOfPockets · 29/10/2010 16:41

It says they're made using 100% chicken breast. That doesn't mean that's all they have in them. Probably very bad for you. If I was drunk enough I could fancy one of these. It doesn't say they're food, it says they're an "innovative snack product." Yum! [hgrin]

mumsgotatum · 29/10/2010 16:43

YANBU that is so GROSS......the kind of 'meat' that is in those kinds of products are highly dubious anyway and absolutely disgusting. Wouldn't go near them

CubaCat · 29/10/2010 16:47

YADNBU. They look minging, and on par with those Feasters things aimed at drunk, geeky bachelors. Plus they are advertised with (probably) the worst ad in the world.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 29/10/2010 17:08

Suddenly I really want a pop tart.

Haven't had one since I was a student many years ago!!

Can yo still buy pop tarts then?

As for toasty meat product, don't see a problem with it myself. Not really my cup of tea but I am sure they will be people who will buy them!
