to lie about tinned soup?

I am quite a foodie. DH really appreciates this. Last night I fed him a tin of Baxter's tinned 'winter vegetable' soup. He paid me great compliments. I have just bought a can of soup at the garage that cost £1.19 (much more than Tesco) and he can have that tonight. He can have that tonight. Should I stop taking the credit at some point? I know it is a lie, but I am thinking about all the free time I could have.

Tonight is, 'Baxter's favourites Minestrone'.

Doesn't say add anything.

I think the years spent building my reputation as a foody may be putting me in god stead.

Aliba

  1. Spaghetti bolognese (loaded with garlic)
2) He will be more tired than me. 3) I wouldn't eat soup unless it was made by me or I was very very hungry. It is cheaper to make it. I have a small freezer, but this thread has made me inclined to freeze more soup.

The phrase, 'feeding him soup' implies it is lovingly laboured over.

I think I fed him condensed soup. I think that my homemade soups are very thick so I can see that he might not have seen that.

Or that you've got him tied up somewhere and he can't use his hands.

cakewench · 28/10/2010 19:06

Are you from Baxter's or something? You've only mentioned the name three times or so in this thread. Grin

FWIW, I don't care. I like this thread. The simplicity of it all- will he guess if it's tinned? I must know!

Do keep us updated. Perhaps tomorrow it will be Baxter's lentil.

scottishmummy · 28/10/2010 19:08

You are hooked. The story will continue on their tins. Scottishmummy will be editor-in-chief.

scottishmummy · 28/10/2010 20:40

cakewench · 28/10/2010 21:48

Baxters. The king of tinned soup. Ask for us by name.

scottishmummy · 28/10/2010 22:02

kinda catchy.shamlessly hope they send me soup

stleger · 28/10/2010 22:06

We always liked Baxters spicy parsnip (ie my husband and I, not the royal we). Since moving away from the UK to the Republic of Ireland I can't find it, is it still available? I love Baxters tomato relish on my baked potato, and hope they will send me a case of it...Smile We have an occasional can of soup for lunch though, not dinner.

scottishmummy · 28/10/2010 22:10
