I'm so sick of seeing house of common discussions with Nick smugly nodding along with whatever Dave says no matter how draconian/ridiculous.

Today he was just sat there smirking along, whilst the government decided they're going to cap housing benefit, which will be pretty catastrophic for people in london, when milliband pointed out that the conservatives are already bookig up b&bs ( for the amount of people who will be made homeless) he just sat there. No argument.

this isn't a thread About benefits at alllll, it's been done to death now. I'm just fucked off that I voted for such a snivelling David cameron shagging yellow bellied Idiot.

Humphrey

Funnily enough apart from the VAT increase I wont be affected much.

Two salary family both earning over £37K

No child benefit, kids to old, one at Uni, one at work.

Mortgage paid off

2 x company pensions for when we retire.

So I have no axe to grind but unlike the Tories I understand fairness and justice and dont despise those less fortunate than me.

This is one of the funniest thread titles ever. Grin

I don't despise those less fortunate than me either.

I didn't particularly think that you had any axe newwave, you always sound like a person of strong conviction. I added the detail about my situation simply BECAUSE those who voted for this tory administration (and I have not done so before) are always accused of selfish self interest and quite frankly nothing could be further from my own personal truth.

newwave · 28/10/2010 19:47

Humphrey, not for one moment was the "despise" comment aimed at you.

IMHO voting Tory to sort out the financial situation is like voting BNP to sort out immigration, they will probably be effective but the pain and suffering caused will be overwhelming for their "victims".

And I AM NOT CALLING YOU A FACIST.

you never know newwave, we might actually get on in RL Grin

as long as we didn't talk about politics...

We both probably have the same goals.

I look at it like this.

A Tory MP and I are planning to run a new railway line through an area without a line. The Tory will look at the cheapest option which will make the most money for his mates in the City and the Railway owners and fuck the damage to lives, envoiroment and homes.

I would look at less destructive routes, tunnels and very very good compensation.

i would not as in the case of one new road turf a woman of 82 from the home she was brought up in.
