Ok, so i was waiting for my train into the city this morning at 8.20am so as you can imagine pretty busy. The train i was waiting for arrived, i got on it and was dragged back off by what i can only decribe as the female version of fat bastard in austin powers.

She dragged me off by the back off my coat and said i'm in a fucking hurry ok! I didnt even get a chance to say anything to her as i was busy gathering my handbag etc from the platform. I could have been seriously hurt as the gap between the plaform and the train is huge and i'm tiny.

Now i'm thinking i should get there early tomorrow and drag her off by the scruff of the neck.

ambu or would you do the same?

Would you like Mumsnet to come with you tomorrow? We could all gather on your platform, wait for your discreet signal and surround her while doing Fat B*stard impressions....

LittleMissHissyFangs · 26/10/2010 23:12

oh kungfu, I am liking your style!

SunnyDays06 · 26/10/2010 23:18

Def call the police!!

cakewench · 26/10/2010 23:41

what the hell is wrong with some people!! That's insane! I can't even imagine that happening once, much less hearing it's happened to someone else in the thread. fgs.

Absolutely get someone to check CCTV and see what can be done.

saffy85 · 27/10/2010 06:34

YANBU to want to have words but as others have said, report her! Shock at people doing this. I don't often travel during rush hour into London or whatever and know people push and shove eachother, but can't believe they are dragging innocent strangers off trains!!!! Hope you're ok she sounds a scary mare!

TandB · 27/10/2010 09:14

Actually, please, please can I come with you? I think it would give me "closure" on my commuter incident to help throw another insane commuter off a train.

Unfortunately the punch in the face incident was pre-kung fu days. I was more "BolshybutunabletodoanythingaboutitPanda" in those days.

ENormaSnob · 27/10/2010 09:15

Yanbu, agree with everyone else.

report her-you could have been hurt.

great description of her by the way!

JaquiChan · 27/10/2010 09:25

Did you see her today?

DialMforMother · 27/10/2010 12:20

YANBU obviously. :)

other posters please don't think this is representative of London. While pg and carrying dd on a sling I always get a seat and people (of all ages and genders) are friendly and concerned for my wellbeing. The commuter trains coming in from the home counties aren't always so welcoming! (IME)

Hammy02 · 27/10/2010 12:26

There is absolutely no reason on earth to treat another human being like this. I don't care if you are going to a funeral, hospital, anything. You cannot behave like this.

FluffyDonkey · 27/10/2010 12:31

It is shocking. I've seen this before on the metro - a woman pulled a girl who was already on the metro off and took her place. Everyone in the train was stunned into silence.

Guacamole · 27/10/2010 14:06

DialM, no it's definitely not representative of London transport... I've travelled commuter trains and tubes for many years except the bloke who pulled me off a tube (and apologised for it?). I don't want to frighten anyone.
I wonder how OP got on today?

huddspur · 27/10/2010 14:10

I'd just let it go to be honest, having a confrontation won't change anything.

scurryfunge · 27/10/2010 14:11

I think the OP was going to report it rather than retaliate, huddspur.

OP are you in a witness protection programme yet or can you divulge whether you reported or not?

taintedpaint · 27/10/2010 14:15

OMG this is horrible! I vote for travelling with a (very large) butterfly net and dragging her back off the train. [hgrin]

Seriously though, someone like that should not be confronted. I've been verbally abused on the tube before, sadly though, the woman who did it had a small child with her. Sometimes you think you've seen it all....you never have.

capricorn76 · 27/10/2010 14:35

Don't confront her, involve the BTP. A few years ago my old bosses girlfriend was involved in a similar situation and ended up breaking a leg. She was standing by the door of the train when the train pulled into the station and when the doors opened a woman who was trying to get off accused her of blocking her way and pushed her onto the platform and broke her leg.

I also saw a man swing for another man who accidently stood on his shoes on a packed carriage. He kept screaming about his shoes costing £300. What a knob!

There are some right nutters out there.

Littlevik · 27/10/2010 14:43

This winds me up, its like people that pull out in front of you at junctions. Why the hell do they think they are more important then you?! What gives them the right to say their need is greater then yours?

Tbh if i saw her again i would feel inclined to ask her if she got to her life and death situation.

KT1324 · 27/10/2010 21:12

did anything happen today, was she there, did you see her again? did you call the police?...

scurryfunge · 27/10/2010 22:22

OP, are you on a beach in Miami in dark sunglasses and a change of hair colour?

newwave · 27/10/2010 22:33

The Police and if that gets you nowhere then plan your revenge.

mummysgoingmad · 28/10/2010 20:31

Hi all!

i got to the train station early on wednesday morning and she wasnt there so i was very Angry with myself for dragging my ass out of bed early to confront her only for her to be a no show. So i spoke to the man at the ticket office and told him what happened, he told me he would get someone to review the tapes from the inside of the train and at the platform.

I stopped in on my way home to see if they caught it and they had, he said i was lucky i wasnt seriously hurt and asked what i would like to be done about the incident, so i said i would like the police to be contacted. The police came to my home today where i was asked about the incident, they said all staff at the train station will be informed that if the woman is seen at the train station she is to be detained there until the police arrive to arrest her.

bet she'l think twice about doing that again!
