To not want front lawn used as local dog toilet?

Let me begin by saying I am a dog owner so this isn't a general bashing dog owners thread.

This morning I find one of my neighbours allowing her dog to run riot on my front lawn (unfortunately deeds state we are not allowed to close it off with fencing otherwise I would). Also dog marking it's territory - ie peeing on my plants and tearing up my lawn by scratching at the turf.

I called out for her to remove her dog and she retorted that it wasn't doing any harm and stomped off with dog in tow.

AIBU to think this is (literally) a foul thing to allow your dog to do?

How would you deal with this situation?

I don't see how she could even begin to justify it. Am so angry.

I would never let my dog pee or poo in someone's garden.

Thanks for all replies.

The Get Off crystals didn't work on my own dog (when trying to keep her off my beautifully planted borders early summer Angry. Sounds like it might be worth another go tho as it may just have been puppy exuberance which kept her digging and chewing regardless Hmm

I have planted a whole row of spiky plants (bloody great Pyracantha - huuuuge spikes hidden behind gorgeous berries) down the side of the house (lost count of the number of times I found people peering in to the playroom and kitchen). But in the front section I tried to keep it more of a mix and leaning towards decorative rather than functional. Bloody dog actually pissed and shat on the base of a 3 foot tall shrub - he was a runty little terrier type who ass would have been well and truly speared had he have hit the pyracantha

I shall be laying in wait for the ignorant bitch neighbour in the morning.....shall gleefully then call my vizla (think MAHOOSIVE poo) and trot around for her to do her unharmful business all over her hebes :o

we experiience the same problem and a group of mums have been spray painting dog poo pink on the walk to school. It's great as immediately people are aware that a dog has done it's business but also with any luck should the owner see it they may feel embarrassed/ think someone is watching them! Failing that maybe we should shame and
spray paint the LAZY owners........
