To want to beat DP and DS1 round the head with a wet fish?

Yesterday I decided a well needed sort out of crap things was in need. I threw out 7 bags of toys, 4 bags of crap rubbish out of DS1's bedroom, the spare bed - was broken, turned DS1s bedroom and the living room around. Washed all the floors, hoovered them, did 4 loads of washing and cooked a roast.

Today I am tackling the clothes, I am just taking a break as have been on the go since 8am. DP is on his laptop and DS1 is as usual refusing to help..

Does anyone have a wet fish I can borrow?

I wish i had your get up and go Grin, i started sorting out the dd's toys yesterday to e-bay, i only managed to list one thing Blush, i should be sorting it out now but i'm on MN instead and the dd's are making a mess, luckily dh is working in London today so wont be here getting in my way.

OsbegaEthewulf · 25/10/2010 10:04

wet fish? reckon a brick might be more in order. Lazy sods...

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 10:07

Marne, I don't normally have any get up and go BUT I am having a party next weekend and have decided it needs doing once and for all.

After the clothes, I have the outside drain to unblock, carpets to vax and dinner to make Grin

And then you can come and do mine Grin ?

I still have boxes lying around from when we moved in 2 months ago that need sorting (i'm tempted to chuck it all away).

onceamai · 25/10/2010 10:11

You just described our house though I'm only starting today. After you've finished with the wet fish, can we have it please - will do for tea tonight.

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 11:59

ok I am definatly slapping them with a wet fish!!!

DP is now shopping with DS2 - which helps a bit!!

DS1 is refusing to help at all.

However I have managed to chuck 3 bags of clothes away.
So am having another quik break.

Well done, your halo is gleaming.
Can you come round here; someone has to hem these curtains today.

Regarding DS1, the usual technique is to take away the computer game until your commands are carried out. Everyone I know does this. (No, of course he won't like it...)

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 12:57

hemming curtains is EASY lol one of my favourite past times Grin

Can you pay DS1 a token amount to help? Depends how old he is.

I have just had to send my two out to play on their scooters, can't believe I have to tell them to go out and play! they would sit and play on the ps3/watch tv all day if allowed to. Drives me mad when it is a lovely sunny day and no school.

Is it just my kids who are bone idle?

BuntyPenfold · 25/10/2010 13:28

No, all kids are bone idle except my 12 year old niece who cooks, washes up, shops, dances, skis, plays the flute, paints, writes, swims, grows the vegetables and is a darling. I am trying to get her to live with me :)

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 13:34

DS1 is 12 Sad must be the age then

emptyshell · 25/10/2010 13:36

My brother was a right sad little kid. Spotless bedroom, did his homework without being asked ahead of schedule and would get most cross if you tried to keep him up past his bedtime.

He's just doing the slobby layabout phase now he's in his 20s instead.

mousymouse · 25/10/2010 13:40

lady, maybe threatening go take poketmoney or other priviliges away will help motivate your ds...

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 14:10

I don't believe in pocket money Blush

but i have taken his ps2 away

My kids have just come back from playing out, except that it turns out they went to a friends house to play console games, instread of doing that at home!

I officially give up.

HauntingTheTardis · 25/10/2010 18:09

TLES - when you've finished your house, can you come up to mine and help me sort out? It is just getting worse and worse around me, and I don't even know where to start. Am considering planting potatoes round the edges of the rooms, in the dust, though! Blush

homebirthmummy4 · 25/10/2010 21:09

hey, how about you stop ebaying the toys and ebay the dh and ds instead????

TheLadyEvilStar · 25/10/2010 22:16

helloooooooooo

I have so far today..

Rearranged DS1's bedroom, ripped the carpet up, fixed a rug in place, rewired his tv,xbox and ps2 up.
Stopped the leak from the overflow pipe into the court yard

Unblocked the drain in the court yard

Rearranged my bedroom

Thrown away the broken wardrobe and 5 bags of clothes.

Now I am sitting down!
